slowly, sweetheart.” He pulled her into his body and they walked to the dining room.
She let him hold her close to his body. She could feel his warmth almost instantly. When they walked into the dining room, Nathan was seated at the head of the table. He gave her a smile and stood up, walked to the empty chair next to him, and pulled it out for her. She moved away from Ethan and sat down, letting him push her toward the table. She nibbled on her lower lip, wondering what they had planned.
“Did you sleep well, beautiful?” Nathan whispered in her ear, and she shivered, enjoying his warm breath on her neck.
“Yeah.” She gave him a small smile and turned in time to see Ryan walking into the dining room with a large tray in his hands. He walked toward her, a big smile lighting up his face. He laid the tray down and quickly grabbed the chair next to her. Nathan moved away, sitting in his chair. Ethan was already sitting across from her. It seemed like it was only going to be the four of them. She searched for Lucas but realized that he wasn’t going to join them. She didn’t need to look around the table to see the looks on their faces. She felt disappointment weigh heavily on her.
“Don’t be upset, baby. We want you to be happy. The three of us worked together making dinner. We thought this could be considered our first date.” Ryan reached a hand over and rubbed her shoulder, pushing his thumb into the sore muscle. It felt good, and she knew he was trying to get her mind off Lucas and onto their date. It was sweet, she had to admit, even though her heart felt a little sick without Lucas. She couldn’t understand why, though. She didn’t know him, shouldn’t care if he showed up or not.
“Thank you. Everything looks delicious.” Her stomach gave her away when it growled loudly, and she looked around wondering if they had heard that. From the knowing smiles on their face, they had. She laughed a little and watched as Ryan loaded up her plate with turkey breast, mashed potatoes, sausage stuffing, and green beans. She didn’t know how they knew what all her favorites were, but she was grateful that they had all been so thoughtful.
Katie grabbed her fork and started eating, not waiting for them to serve themselves first. Everything tasted amazing, and the flavors exploded in her mouth. She could taste the sage in the stuffing and the garlic in the mashed potatoes. She closed her eyes and moaned, enjoying her meal. When she opened her eyes again, three sets of eyes were staring at her. “What?”
Nathan cleared his throat. “Um, nothing. You make the sweetest sounds when you eat, that’s all.” He gave her a wink and then took a slow bite of his food while she watched him. The fork went into his mouth and he pulled it out slowly, licking it and then licking his lips. He went for another bite and her heart nearly stopped at the look of pleasure on his face while he watched her. She licked her lips, wanting to be the food, wanting his mouth on her. Her heart beat frantically in her chest, and before she knew what she was doing, she was walking toward him.
Nathan arched his brow, and she had a hard time reading his expression. Instead of stopping herself, she reached the table, grabbed his plate, and pushed it toward the center of the table. She shut her mind off, ignoring her inner voice protesting her next move. She climbed onto the table, stretching out in front of him, offering herself to him without words. She spread her legs farther apart so that they lay on either side of his wide thighs.
Nathan didn’t disappoint her. He reached for the waistband of her pants along with her panties and pulled them down her legs. She felt exposed and vulnerable and started to shake a little. She closed her eyes on a groan when she felt his fingers touch her exposed flesh. She heard the scraping of two chairs and knew that both Ethan and Ryan had moved. She didn’t know if they were leaving the room or just trying
