likely, I would let you do just that, but now it’s time for some real breakfast. Do you have anything we can cook here, or do we have to go out?”
“But why can’t we just stay in bed and eat in ?”
His horrible attempts at pouting made me laugh out loud.
“Listen , this sister has to eat food, baby, so come and shower with me.”
After showering and putting on some clothes—him in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and me in my dress from the previous night—we both decided to go back to my place so I could change into something more comfortable.
What? I couldn’t go around town wearing that dress to breakfast. Is you crazy?
“Make a left right here ,” I told him when we pulled onto my street.
He found a perfect parking spotright in front of my building, and we both got out. When we got inside my place, I smiled and waved toward the living room.
“Just make yourself at home while I change.”
Going into my room, I decided to put on a simple pair of black jeans and a fuchsia tank top with a white, short-sleeved shirt over it. Running a brush through my hair, I decided to leave it down, since Max liked it that way, but I did put on a headband to keep it in place. When I walked back out into the living room, I found him looking over some of the pictures I had on my bookcase. Most of them were of my family, and a few were of me when I was a kid. He was smiling at a picture he was holding—one of me when I was a baby, smiling big and bright.
    “You were a cutie pie.”
“ Were a cutie pie? Sweetheart, I still am.”
That’s when he gave me a sound kiss on the lips. God , those lips of his sent my heart and body racing, and I had to force myself to remember that we had to get something to eat.
“Breakfast , darling. We better go and get some food.”
We decided to go to a diner down the road from my place. I honest have to say our time eating was mostly spent eating off each other’s plate, making goofy faces at each other, and having a silly conversation about cartoon characters.
“I can’t believe you dressed up as the Joker when you were ten. I dressed up like Mickey Mouse when I was eight ,” I said.
“I bet you were a cute Mickey.”
He dug into his eggs , while I cut into my waffle.
“What are your plans for today?” he asked me.
I thought for a moment , and honestly, I didn’t have any plans, other than maybe a nap. “Nothing, really, why you ask?”
“Stay with m e for the rest of the day. I want to spend as much time as I can with you, Sarah.”
I looked at him as if he was completely off his rocker, but then I realized when he held my hand that he wanted me to stay with him. Who would want to pass up spending the day with a man like Max?
“ Well why not for the rest of this weekend then? I mean, we might as well, since we can go into work together. We can go back to my place to get my things, thengo around town for a while. Grab some food for dinner tonight and head on back to your place to cook.”
“We can do that would love to have you make me dinner just as long as I can have you for dessert!”
All I could do was look down and smile while we continued eating. Lord knows , I would need my strength to deal with Max for the rest of that weekend. After eating, we went back to my place so I could pack a couple of my things for the weekend.
“What would you like to do today?” I asked , zipping up my bag while wondering if I forgot anything.
“We could go see a mov ie…Or better yet, we could rent some movies. That way, I can snuggle with you alone.”
I grabbed my bag then crossed the room to kiss him on the cheek. “Let’s get out of here.”

It took us over an hour to figure out what we would do next, and in the end, we decided we’d just make a run to the store. I had thought about making us steaks, some baked potato with sour cream and butter, and a salad. As I was getting the sour cream and butter, Max came over
