for, I just haven’t heard someone say it in a while.”
    I swallowed my sigh. “Okay.”
“Was it nice to have Hector touching you?”
    “He did… a good job.”
She stared at me for a while, not blinking, barely moving. Then she casually turned away, like she hadn’t just stood there for twenty seconds, staring like a creep.
“What do you think of Holly?” she then asked, her voice piqued with interest.
“What about her?” I returned, confused. Holly seemed to be the flavor of the day.
Shay looked across the room and at Holly. Her green eyes followed her as she smoothly transitioned through the room, respectfully keeping a distance from bikers and at the same time smiling with friendliness at them as she served their drinks.
“She’s not fitting in,” Shay said. “I just don’t get why the guys like her so much. Do you?”
I shrugged, prodding harder at the sticker on my beer. “I don’t know, Shay. Don’t even care to be honest.”
    “But do you like her?”
“I don’t know her that well.”
“Hector keeps looking at her and I don’t like it.”
Ah, Hector again, and there it was, the real problem exposed. “Hector looks at every girl with a working vagina.”
“But he’s staring at her too much. Have they fucked? Do you know anything? Like do you know if they’ve fucked?”
“You asked that twice in one go.”
“I know, but it’s obvious, isn’t it? Because I feel like the way he’s staring at her is personal, like he’s seen what she looks like naked. She’s a fucking slut, though, right?”
    “I don’t –”
“Look at her, making her way around the bar, playing hard to get. I see straight through that bullshit. What do you think?”
    What in the fuck?
I blinked in surprise at her, wondering what she put in her water recently to make her so…unhinged.
“Like I said, Shay, I know nothing about her, but I know she hasn’t caused one bit of drama like you are right now.”
Shay’s eyes went to mine and her brows shot up. It looked all wrong, to be honest. Her brows were so black, obviously the color of her real hair, yet she dyed her real hair so white it gave me an eye ache just staring at it. On top of that, her face was orange and caked with make-up, and it didn’t blend in well with her pale neck. I didn’t get why girls did this.
“I’m not creating drama,” she said defensively. “I was just asking you a question, Tyler. If you’re on the rag you should let me know ahead of time so I don’t burden you with my drama .”
“Then consider me on the rag every day of the year,” I countered back, narrowing my eyes at her.
“That’s not possible, Tyler, you’d bleed to death.”
“It was a figure of speech.”
She looked at me queerly. “Why can’t you just be a normal girl?!”
    “Define normal.”
“Just someone to talk shit with!”
I shrugged, weakly. “I don’t know why, Shay. I clearly have a problem.”
    “I see that now.”
“If you’re looking for a pal, consider joining the whores walking around. I’m sure they’ll indulge your love for Hector since you’ve all shared the same bodily fluids with him and you’ll have plenty in common to talk shit about.”
“While I appreciate your suggestion which is so clearly laced with mockery, I won’t do that, Tyler. I’m nothing like those whores. They don’t care for Hector the way I do.”
I resisted cringing. Instead, I just stiffened a nod and she moved down the bar, continuing her perpetual glare at Holly before smiling at the nearest guy.
Shay was in her late twenties. Aside from the brow issue and carrot colored skin, she was a very beautiful woman, but she was also absolutely fucking obsessed with Hector. And with his eyes constantly following Holly all week, I knew it was getting to her on a nuclear level.
I distanced myself from drama. The second I sniffed it, I was out of there. Girls weren’t easy to get along with for me. They could be your best friend one
