Chapter One

Loud music blared throughout the house and Hunter Morris
gritted his teeth. If they didn’t live on ten acres, which gave them more than
enough privacy, the cops would probably be on their way. His wife Linda danced
on top of their very expensive coffee table with two of her newly found
friends. Yeah, this “little get-together” was getting way out of hand.
He grabbed an empty beer bottle and threw it in the overflowing
trashcan and ran his hand through his hair. If this was how it was going to go
for the rest of the night, he might try to hide. The doorbell rang but of
course no one moved to answer it. Linda and their guests were all too busy
dancing, drinking and, if he were to guess, fucking in one of the guestrooms.
That’s what usually ended up happening at these parties.
Making his way to the door, he opened it to find Beth
standing there with a bottle of vodka in her hand. He ran his gaze down her
body as if he were caressing her with his eyes. Damn, she knew how to dress to
show off her hot body.
Tonight she wore a white shirt that clung to her breasts. He
could tell with a quick glance that she didn’t have a bra on either, since her
nipples were poking out against the material. Her pink skirt was so short that
if she bent over, her ass would show. And her shoes… God damn, did she know how
to pick some fine-ass shoes.
“Sorry I’m late,” she said as she walked into the house. “I
got held up at work. What’s the score?”
The score? He blinked and then grinned.
“I don’t think they even have the game on anymore. Some
basketball party, huh?”
The whole reason Linda’s friends had invaded his home on a
Thursday night was to watch the NBA playoff game. They kept the TV on for a whole
thirty minutes before someone switched it off and turned on the stereo.
Beth laughed, flashing her white teeth. “Oh come on,
Hunter…you know how these parties end up.”
“And yet I keep agreeing to have them.”
She shook her head and moved past him, headed right toward
the kitchen, which was always one of the hotspots. As she left, he got a nice
view of her ass cheeks peeking from beneath her skirt. Damn . A warm arm
wrapped around his waist from the other side and he turned to find Linda grinning
up at him.
    “Well?”
    “Well what?”
    “Did-ju as-kher?”
She slurred her words together and he frowned as he tried to
decipher what she’d just said. A quick glance at the clock hanging on the wall
made him sigh. Only nine and his wife was already trashed.
    “Did-ju?”
“Did I what? I have no idea what or who you’re talking
about.”
Linda pulled away and planted a hand on her hip—never a good
sign. She licked her lips.
“Did you ask Beth to be your hall pass?” She spoke
super-slowly, carefully pronouncing each word.
Even though he understood her right away this time, he still
drew a blank. He’d had a long day at the office and he suddenly felt drained.
Then the conversation came crashing back to him. The other night, he and Linda had
jokingly talked about a “hall pass”, or the one person they would sleep with if
they could do so and not face any consequences. He had heard of such a thing
before but he’d been mildly amused that his wife seemed interested in the
thought of sleeping with someone else for one night while he did the same.
Linda had surprised him by immediately naming their longtime
friend Randy. Of course Linda had been doing a lot of things that surprised Hunter
lately. On her thirty-fifth birthday she arrived late to her own party and
literally revealed the tattoo she’d gotten on her ass.
After that, she’d begun partying with some of her coworkers
on the weekends, which led to her spending time with an increasingly younger
crowd. Thus all of the twenty-something people in Hunter’s house tonight. He
couldn’t be too upset though. Through the younger crowd he had met Beth…
    “Hunter…did you ask her?”
Linda’s voice brought him back to
