haze, all the muscles in her body seizing up as heat coiled in her belly, ready to strike. “Yes, Grant, oh. Oh, God, yes, yes…”
“Kiss me,” Grant whispered, holding her tight as he slammed his hips up into her body. “I want you to come as you kiss me.”
Vivica mashed her mouth against Grant’s, whimpering softly as their teeth clashed together. In a matter of seconds, she was coming, clenching hard around him, her vision blurring as her orgasm rippled through her body in a mad whirlwind of rainbow-like colors. She dropped her forehead against his shoulder, panting hard, clutching at his hair as it slipped between her fingers. Grant groaned and thrust up once, twice, and muffled a groan into her chest as he came inside of her, breath coming in harsh gasps as he tried to keep a hold of her through the wild aftershocks.
It took Grant a few moments to get his bearings. He felt as though he hadn’t come that hard in ages, his heart fluttering like a caged bird in his chest. He held Vivica tight, limbs feeling like lead, his face buried in the crook of her neck. Her fingers were still clutching at his hair, but Grant didn’t mind. He felt like he wanted to hold her forever, and it didn’t matter how sappy and trite it sounded. He was perfectly okay with being a walking and talking cliché.
He didn’t even remember falling asleep, but the next time he opened his eyes, pale dawn was painting kaleidoscope stripes on their flushed bodies, and Vivica was looking at him with those eyes that had enthralled him from the very first day they met. Had it only been a week ago? Grant didn’t think it possible.
“Morning, gorgeous,” he whispered in the quiet of the morning, brushing his knuckles on her cheekbone.
“Hey.”
The hair at the back of Grant’s neck perked at attention. He quietly pushed himself up on an elbow, draping the other arm around Vivica’s shoulders and pulling her closer. Vivica’s hands went around Grant’s back, grappling for leverage. Grant caressed her hair and nuzzled the side of her jaw, kissing her softly.
“What’s buzzing in that brain of yours?” Grant asked after a few minutes of cuddles.
Vivica shrugged imperceptibly. “Just… things.”
“What things?”
Another shrug. Grant nudged her chin up until he could look into her eyes.
“You,” she admitted after a beat. “I thought I had you figured out, but…”
“I’m just that full of surprises,” Grant smiled, but quickly turned serious again, his eyes soft and mellow as he pushed the sweaty hair out of Vivica’s face. “What are you thinking?” he repeated, his voice quieter, honest.
“Do you want… I mean.” She cleared her throat. “This. It’s not just a fluke, right?”
Grant didn’t know whether to laugh or tickle her. He decided for neither and leaned closer, their foreheads brushing together as he placed the gentlest kiss on her lips.
“Is that answer enough?”
Vivica smiled, bashful and uncertain. “I don’t know. Maybe?”
“I can work with maybe.” Grant tugged at her and kissed her, properly this time, until his lips tingled and he could feel the heat radiating from Vivica’s body as he pressed up close to her.
He quietly kissed the tip of her nose, making Vivica snort and pull away, hiding her face in the pillow. Grant chuckled and rubbed his knuckles down her spine, feeling as though his life had just begun all over again.
“So I was thinking,” Grant said casually after a beat of silence. Vivica raised her head half an inch to look at him. “Do you have plans next weekend? ’Cause I got a two-person package at this fancy resort in Key West… and I would hate for it to go to waste.”
Vivica grinned from the crook of her arms. “I think I might be persuaded to accompany you.”
“Persuaded, huh?”
Vivica nodded, her eyes glowing as she rolled on her side and threw one leg over Grant’s hip.
“I think I’ll find ways to persuade you.”
Grant grinned, leaning up
