my memories of the woman who still, all these years later, claims my heart. The way this woman made me feel last month… I haven’t felt that way since Faith.
I’ve been with plenty of woman since her… Not something I’m totally proud of, but I have. Now don’t get me wrong, the women I’ve been with were good and it suited to fit my needs, but that was it and they knew it.
But this girl last month, she stirred something in me and I don’t know why, but my heart tells me I need to try and contact Faith again.
    “Lo! You here?”
“In the kitchen,” I holler at Leif.
“Yo! Tonight you’re mine and I won’t take no for an answer.”
My brother being home meant something was either wrong or up. My brothers are usually only back here during the holidays. Which is sad and lonely for me at times, but they’ve really got their lives together and for that, I can’t complain.
I can still remember all the shit they gave me growing up and how much I longed for my parents to be around to help. But now, I miss those times some days. They were now impeccable men. I’m very proud of them and all their achievements. Mom and Dad would be so proud of the men they’ve become.
Leif now runs his own business. Levi has been signed to a record company. Landon is in college studying to be a doctor. Lucas is in college on a basketball scholarship and has scouts eating him up. Like I said, I’m so proud of them.
“Dude, are you listening to me?”
“Yeah, I’m listening,” I put the last dish in the cupboard before turning around. “What’s up?”
“It’s a surprise, but me and the guys got together, decided it was high time we thank you for all you’ve sacrificed for us over the years when you didn’t have to. So you can’t say no. We need food so let’s shop. Let’s go.”
“Lee, I thank you guys for thinking of me, but I’ve got to work tomorrow and…” I start to protest.
“Already took care of that. You are on vacation as of tomorrow.”
    “What the hell!”
“What’s the sense of being a boss if you don’t take a vacation every now and again?  Trust me… You’ll be glad we requested your vacation once you see what we have for you,” he grins big.
Groaning, I grab my keys and follow behind him out the door.  Why do I suddenly have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I’m not going to be the same after tonight?
My brothers have never been known for being tactful or even considerate, not when it came to fun. Don’t get me wrong. I love them all and as I said before they’ve grown into respectful men and I couldn’t be prouder of them, but then you have their carefree sides… I shake my head and just pray it’s a good thing and not a bad thing.

    Leif

Walking further behind Logan, he is grumbling about hating surprises. Honestly, I have to laugh at him. He was like a five year old when it came to this stuff. But my brother was the most selfless man I’ve ever met. He never thought of himself. It was only ever us.
That was until he met Faith. When he was with Faith, he lived. She gave my brother something that my brothers and I have been trying to give him for years. A reason to smile.
He smiles and he’s ‘happy’, but he’s not fulfilled. She gave that to him. But just as quick as it seems she appeared, she left him broken. I wanted to hunt her down myself and drag her back to my brother. If anyone deserves to be happy, it’s Logan.
“Be right back. I’m going to go grab something real quick.” I say before hurrying over a couple aisles away.
Pulling out my phone, I peek around the end to make sure he didn’t follow before calling the woman I can’t get off my mind, but can never have.
    “Hello?”
“Hey beautiful,” I say and truly mean it.
Lia was by far the most beautiful woman that has ever graced my line of sight. I’ve been head over heels in love with her from the first day I met her. The problem was she never saw me that way. So
