room, but it was large. Harmena was able to divide the room into a sitting area and bedroom.
“Come on. Let’s go see what we can scrounge up in the kitchen.”
Ten minutes later, Kalliope and Harmena were resting against a countertop, eating two halves of crusty bread.
“You must have been something special if Orestes brought you back here,” Harmena mused.
Kalliope only shrugged. “Honestly, I’m not sure why. All I did was follow his directions.”
“That’s a pretty big deal in and of itself. Most prostitutes like to be in control. At least that’s what I’ve been told.”
“I guess. It was easy enough...and it was exciting.”
“That’s the most important thing here. Learning the lifestyle. Knowing what each man likes. The men begin to pick favorites. Some of them only see one of us, while some visit a few of us. You will have your own clients soon enough.”
Kalliope hoped so. She felt like she was so far behind everyone else.
The women finally went their separate ways, and Kalliope went back to her room to rest before she had to start working again. Kalliope felt more confident tonight, she even placed the delicate broach clip in her hair.
She was overwhelmed when she stepped into the courtyard. Though she was prepared to sing and entertain the men, there were a few who were already waiting for her service. Kalliope saw Priska watching her from the corner of the room, and she gave Kalliope a curt nod when their eyes met.
Kalliope’s first client was rather dull, and Kalliope didn’t have to do much to please him. However, Kalliope’s second client was much more interesting. He was handsome in an intense way, with dark eyes that followed Kalliope’s every move. His hair was long and slick, and Kalliope could see that he was muscular. Just as Kalliope was moving towards him, Harmena came walking by.
“Be careful of Spyro. He’s a nasty thing,” she whispered out of the corner of her mouth. Kalliope thought nothing of her words and moved toward the man. She had dealt with more than her fair share of unpleasant men at Gaia’s. She could certainly handle her own.
“I’m Kalliope,” she breathed to the man, reaching out for his hand.
“Spyro,” he said curtly, ignoring her hand and standing. Kalliope felt his eyes rake across her body and she felt slightly uneasy. She brushed the feeling off and led him to a room at the end of the hall.
Spyro looked around the room, his eyes dark and excited. “This is an excellent room. I like the privacy.”
Kalliope wasn’t sure what his words meant. She cast her eyes downwards. “Tell me what pleases you,” she said softly.
Spyro made a sound deep in his throat and he came behind Kalliope, his breath hot on the back of her neck.
“Sweet Kalliope,” he whispered, his hands on her shoulders and moving down her bare arms. “The men could not stop raving about you last night.” He paused, cupping her sex and squeezing. Kalliope gasped. “They say your pussy is as sweet as a juicy cherry.”
He rubbed her sex harder, his fingers pressing into her soft flesh. Kalliope shifted on her feet, trying to find pleasure in his rough touch.
“How long since you lost your virginity?” he asked, his voice breathy with excitement.
    “Two years.”
Spyro groaned with desire. “Ohh. I bet your pussy is still tight.” He slid his hand inside her dress and moved to her sex, parting her lips with his fingers, before strumming against her clit.
Kalliope moaned softly, her head rolling onto his shoulder. There was something dangerous about Spyro, but it was part of his appeal.
“That’s right,” he murmured as he rubbed Kalliope’s clit, “Feel how good I can be to you. Feel my fingers making you moan.”
Kalliope grinded against his hand, pushing her pussy towards him, desperate for more. Spyro responded, driving her crazy, until at the last minute, he pulled away, leaving her breathless and frustrated.
He laughed cruelly. “Oh, Kalliope, you
