wonderful man.” She could feel his hard cock poking her in the stomach. He was aroused and she had an idea.
Liz looked up at him lovingly, her fingers making lazy patterns up and down his chest.
“How about we go inside and I show you my appreciation for these beautiful flowers you planted for me?”
“Hmmm, that sounds nice,” he said dipping down to kiss her lips. “But I need to take a shower and wash this dirt off me.”
“I have an idea. How about you go get started in the shower. I have a few more things to take out of the car then I’ll meet you there and wash any hard to reach places.” Dragon’s gazed burned hotter. “Don’t be long.” He turned and walked into the house.
Liz practically skipped getting her things from the car. She dumped everything in the living room, heard the shower running and smiled thinking of all the wicked things she planned to do to him.
She started removing her clothes when the doorbell stopped her in her tracks. Oh shit! It must be Kevin with the cats. Fuck, I totally forgot he was coming over. She sighed and rebuttoned her shirt, glancing toward the bathroom. Hopefully she could get rid of him quickly.
The doorbell rang again with a sustained ring. The fucking bastard was leaning on the bell.
Apparently, she wasn’t answering the door fast enough for him. Now that she knew what real love was, she couldn’t believe she’d stayed with him so long.
She threw open the door ready for a fight. “There is no need to keep pressing the doorbell. I heard you the first time.”
Kevin pushed his way in, carrying the cat carrier. “Yeah, well I got tired of waiting at the door. Amy’s in the car, so I don’t want this to take forever.” She held her hand out for the cat carrier. “Fine with me, give them to me. You don’t want to keep her waiting. Didn’t she trust you to come alone or is she worried you’ll do to her what you Fated Mates

did to me? I hope at least, you left the windows opened a crack. It is hot outside.” When he saw the mating mark on her outstretched palm, his face turned a dark shade of purple. “You bitch. I can’t believe you actually did it. You let an alien touch you,” he spat.
Liz took the carrier from his hands and placed it on the floor. Both cats ran out looking for a place to hide. Some things never changed. They always went running for a hiding place whenever he started to raise his voice.
She wasn’t going to allow his hate and anger to taint the beauty she had discovered. “You listen to me, you prick. Dragon is three times the man you are and I won’t allow you to spew your hate in my house. Get the hell out. Know this, today will be the very last time I will ever talk to you. I am never going to acknowledge your existence again. I am Serralian now and they consider Earth marriages a pale comparison to being Mated. You are nothing to me. I should go out there and thank Amy for taking you off my hands. Now get out. I never want to see you again.”
Kevin turned on his heels and stormed out of the house. The door slammed his last good-bye. Liz walked over and locked the door. The click signified the final chapter of her old life closing. She was free.
She turned around with a smile. “How much did you hear?” Dragon stepped into the room from the hallway, naked and wet. He must have gotten out of the shower to see what delayed her so long.
“Most of it. I would have helped if you had needed it but you didn’t. You are a true Serralian Mate. It made my warrior heart proud listening to you.” His gaze roamed hotly over her body.
“You know, Dragon,” she said unbuttoning her shirt and letting it slip to the floor. “I don’t think you got all the dirt from the garden off. I’m going to have to join you in the shower and see the job gets done right.”
Dragon walked up to her and stopped in front of her, only a whisper away. “I think you are right.”
She looked up, gazed in his eye, and put her hand over
