a jumble flooding into her, but she didn’t release it. She pushed the link harder. She wanted to know everything that had happened.
With th at came i mages of the massacre.
First she saw Nayla before him, sucking on him, looking intoxicated with pleasure. The next image showed the entire camp under attack. Bodies were strewn everywhere. Then she saw three of them walking, exhausted.
The final image showed Aaron being carried away by grolls while another held Nayla down.
“Oh , god. It is real.” She let go of the link, not even capable of surprise at the new way she could use her ability. Tears came pouring out of her eyes. Pain ripped through her chest. She felt her entire world crashing down, falling hard around her.
Suddenly Cla rissa’s words came back to her.
“A death is soon to come.”
That death must have been Nayla’s. I thought it was going to be my father. Why Nayla? She’s my only friend in this world. Why would they want Aaron and not her?
The rest of what Clarissa said came back to her.
“A great change is happening in and around you. You will make a choice. A big one. Soon.” She knew now what that choice was.
She didn’t know how she was going to do it, but she knew she had to find a way to rescue Aaron. Alone.

I would like to thank Denise and Jim for helping me out with my first attempt at writing this genre. It’s something I have wanted to do for a long time. I’ve just never been brave enough to give it a shot. You have both been so very patient with me, and I am forever grateful.
