greeting.
“I pulled into a parking lot. Shut it for a minute would you?”
“Yes, ma'am.” I chuckle at her bossiness.
“What fucking hospital are you at?”

Suddenly a heavy thud hits my shoulder and jars me awake. My eyes fly open as the flash of pain and my right hand reaches up to cover the area. I look up and see Landyn standing over me. “What the fuccck, Lan. Jesus. Why'd you punch me?” I slur.
Landyn's eyes bulge out and his nostrils flare. “I thought you were fucking dead, you bastard. I got a call from the hospital saying you fell off your bike. Why were you riding your bike today in the rain? What were you thinking?” He's pissed at me and rightfully so.
“Not dead. But apparently I should wish I was.” I shift on the bed. “I was driving my bike because I hooked up with a hottie last night and had no other way to leave. I wasn't about to stay with her longer than I had to, I mean I don't want her to think I love her.” I can't tell him that I am still hooking up with Ciana. Landyn has never really cared what I thought but didn't think I should be involved in her crazy polyamorous life. I shift my gaze and look around Landyn toward the curtain. Siannon is with him and she looks pretty uncomfortable standing there with her hands tucked in her pocket.
“Hey, Siannon. How are you doing, doll?”
Looking uncomfortable, she offers me a tight smile and a small wave. I smile back at her as Landyn leans his hip on the table beside the bed. “So what's wrong with you then if you aren't dead?” Landyn asks while crossing his arms and throwing me an expectant look.
“Severe road rash down the whole side of my body. Couple broken ribs, concussion. Y'know all the good stuff.” I chuckle and wince as the pain shoots through my torso. Reaching for my injury, I shake my head in defeat.
“Fuck, Des, you gonna come stay with me for a while? You can't be by yourself with a concussion.”
“No, actually Lexi is going to come help me out,” I tell them, since they are going to be finding out shortly when she arrives so what the fuck. “She is supposed to come and get me. I called her when it happened.” I look over at Siannon who has a crooked grin on her face. Her smile grows.
“Is she now?” she teases. “Really? Well then.” Pulling out her phone her thumbs begin to furiously punch at the screen, smiling and shaking her head as she does so.
“Listen, Des, come stay at my house. We'll get some take out and play poker tonight. How does that sound?” Lan is a persistent mother fucker. I honestly don't know why it's so important to him. Mother fucker would probably just fucking lecture me the whole time I was there anyways.
“Lexi's coming. I think I'd rather stay with her.” I waggle my eyebrows at my cousin, who although very experienced in pussy dialect, has just realized that I said Lexi and his eyes widen in shock.
“Lexi? Like my girlfriend's best friend Lexi? What? When the fuck did that happen? And did you fucking cheat on her last night? Fuck, Des! Keep your fuckin dick in your pants and don't ruin shit!” Landyn tosses a pen cap at me.
“It's not like that–” I start and then the curtain flies open to reveal Lexi, out of breath and pale as a ghost. I raise my hand and wave at her, smiling. She notices Landyn first and then Siannon, who lifts her phone tapping it with her thumbs.
Lexi's own phone buzzes, and she nervously smiles at Siannon before swiping the screen and turning her gaze to her hand. I watch as she looks up at her best friend and shrugs before pushing past Landyn and leaning in to press a kiss on my mouth.
“Hi, baby,” I whisper before nipping her bottom lip.
“You scared me, you bastard.” She laughs against my lips and pulls away before swatting my arm with her open hand. I brush her hair from her face and tilt my head to the side. I'm seeing her for the first time, and she's fucking beautiful.
Landyn looks all kinds of confused right
