come by twice to check on her. The man is obviously proud of his daughter. He lights up as soon as she walks into the room. He brought Ana some supplies from the farm and helped her gather up more firewood. He sits and talks with us for a while, and even shares a few stories about Ana that she wasn’t exactly expecting him to tell. I’ve come to enjoy his little visits.
I wish I could say the same for her buddy, Steven. He came by earlier today, and he made it clear that he still wasn’t happy about me being here. I can’t say that I blame the guy. I know he loves her. Hell. Who wouldn’t love her? She’s pretty fucking amazing.
Every minute I spend with her makes me want her even more. Her body calls out to me, taunting me, without her even knowing it. I need to own her body, to dominate her. I want to taste the salt of her skin, to tangle my fingers in her hair as I press the smooth curves of her body against me.
“What is your most embarrassing moment?” she asks, pulling me from my thoughts. It is getting late, but neither of us is really tired.
“What?” I ask. I look over to her, wondering where that question came from. She’s just put another log on the fire, and she’s smiling as she gets into the bed.
“Your most embarrassing moment… what is it?” she repeats as she pulls the covers over her.
“Where did that come from?” I ask, walking over to her.
“Just curious,” she says as I lay down beside her.
“I’d have to say when you tried to get me to take a piss in that fucking bedpan,” I tell her with a smile. There is no way I’ll ever tell her what it really is.
“Oh, come on. I’m sure you can do better than that!” she says, giggling. She gets quiet and then says, “Mine is awful. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.”
“Alright, let’s hear it.” I roll to my side, so I am facing her. I love how she brings her stories to life with her facial expressions while she talks.
“It was during my gross anatomy class. We were bombarded with pictures of cadavers and videos of operations that showed proper dissection techniques. They were trying to prepare us for the first time we used a scalpel on a real person. I’d been studying those textbooks and videos for weeks, and I had convinced myself that I was ready. I really, really thought I was prepared for anything. We were escorted into the lab and assigned our cadavers. My partner and I were a little nervous, but mostly we were excited. It was the first real step to becoming a doctor. We walked over to our assigned table, and I pulled back the nylon sheet that covered the body…. I wasn’t as prepared as I thought. Our cadaver was uncircumcised. I’d never seen one on a real person before, and my eyes were drawn to it. I couldn’t hide my curiosity. My partner noticed me leaning in for a closer look, and immediately started making fun of me about it. For the next two semesters, everyone called me Skin .”
“Skin?” I’m not expecting that and can’t help but laugh loudly. Then, I say it again just to make her smile. She is obviously extremely smart, but there is such an innocence to her. The expressions she makes with her eyes and mouth mesmerize me. She is beautiful and doesn’t even know it.
“Stop! It was awful. I couldn’t live it down,” she scoffs with a serious look on her face.
“Yeah, that one is pretty bad. You win,” I tell her, laughing under my breath. She continues to surprise me. I have never felt the way she makes me feel. She fascinates me in ways I cannot even begin to comprehend. I want her so much I can barely stand it.
“Stop laughing! It’s not funny,” she says, smiling wide. When I don’t stop, she hits my arm playfully and throws the covers off of her legs. The room falls silent when she starts to get out of the bed. She looks back to me, her eyes roaming over my bare chest. There is no mistaking the desire that fills her eyes, and right then, I know she wants me
