and whispered words. A sweet shiver hardened
my nipples and dampened my panties.
I needed him. Needed to escape the drudgery of my life again.
I threw my empty cup in the trash and glanced at the clock. Five more
hours until I could go home. “I’ll figure something out. I always do.”
“If you’re going to Chantelle’s this weekend, I’m coming along.”
“Oh, no.” I strode across the waiting room. “Theo would kill me, and
the last thing I need right now is him pissed off.”
    “I’m joining the club, regardless.”
I laughed and scanned my ID card, opening the ‘employee’s only’ door.
“Why? So you can write a story for the paper about sex clubs?”
“No.” She scoffed. “I want to see what the hoopla is all about.”
    “Hoopla?”
“The excitement over mixing pain with pleasure.”
Snorted laughter hurt my nose. “Well, good luck with that, but I’ve got
other ideas. And, they don’t include Chantelle’s—or whips and chains thank you
very much.”

I didn’t escape for another eight hours, and as I pulled onto our
street, midnight drew near. Theo’s Cherokee sat in his driveway, all the house
lights off. Heaving a sigh, I trudged up to my front door and glanced over at
his side of the duplex again.
Theo said he slept like the dead. And, I knew where he hid the key to
his front door.
A grin dissolved my body’s weariness, and I hurried upstairs to shower
and shave.
Twenty minutes later, I let myself into his house, quiet as a mouse,
and tossed my wool coat atop his own on the back of a chair. In nothing but my
skin, I slipped up the stairs.
Theo’s bedroom door stood wide open, his snoring form bathed in the
street light’s beams slipping past the edges of his closed blinds. Although
chilly, I took my time examining his beautiful body. Arm overhead, his bulging
forearm muscle covered his eyes. A sculpted chest gave way to abs I couldn’t
wait to lick my way down. Damn blankets stopped my perusal.
Enough looking anyway. I smiled. Time to touch and taste.
I’d considered going straight for his lips and waking him like a male Sleeping
Beauty, but decided to get him hot and bothered before going in for the kill. I
pulled back the blankets and thanked God he slept naked.
A brief inhale of masculine musk, and I wrapped my lips around his
flaccid cock. He moaned and shifted his hips as blood rushed to thicken his
length. Within seconds, my mouth was full of his hard cock, my hand fondling
his balls.
“Charlene,” he mumbled while wrapping his hands in my hair.
If he was awake or dreaming, I didn’t have a clue, not that it
mattered. I gave him all I had—all I knew to do with my hands, lips, and
tongue. Hell, I even used my teeth the slightest bit, drawing a harsh “Fuck”
from his lips. Once Theo’s breath came in pants, I crawled up his body to
straddle his thighs.
He blinked in the dim light, lips parted and eyes taking a moment to
focus on my face.
“Wakey wakey.” I smiled and rubbed my wet folds along his hard length.
He groaned and grasped my hips, stilling me. “Holy fuck , I’ve never enjoyed being woken up so much in my life.”
I all but purred my satisfaction and leaned down to kiss him.
He turned his head and swallowed. “Don’t.”
    “Why not?”
    “We can’t do this.”
    “We already are.”
Dark eyes dominated by black pupils latched onto mine, but they didn’t
spark with anger. “I can’t make you mine right now and ruin all you’ve worked
for.”
“Seriously, Theo.” I tried not to sound like I was scolding him and
ended up half-snorting the words. “What makes you think starting something is
going to ruin my becoming a pediatrician?”
“I plan on sleeping beside you every night.” He cupped my cheek in his
palm. “Waking up beside you every morning and making sweet love to you until
you cry out my name.”
Tears pricked my eyes. “Sounds like heaven to me.”
“And you’ll be late to work because I can’t keep
