doesn’t have the slightest idea.
Suddenly I am grateful for the purification of ninety-four—my god, ninety-four!— years of suspended animation. Maybe it’s what I deserved. Maybe it’s the only thing that now makes me worthy of him.
I realize this is the first time I am really enjoying sex.
My whole sex life is a vague dream, unreal due to the synthetic drugs, as widespread on Earth as drinks at parties. My experience is dotted with strangers. Of course, I never cared about my casual partners as much as I care about Phae.
    He respects me.
But it’s not only that. I also respect him and want to please him and don’t want to hurt him. I, the capricious, immature, superficial son of a rich and powerful politician. I used to be totally unable to deal with feelings, and now I am worried about him.
“If you did this thing,” he says, “this practice….”
    “You mean anal sex?”
He flushes comically. “If you really did it, it was with a special person you had on Earth. You said people make love only to those whom they feel a special bond with.”
    I sigh.
Phae brushes my hair back. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to make you sad.”
I realize I can’t lie to him. I could tell him anything about me, let him believe that I am the prince he imagines, but I can’t. I just can’t. The suspended animation prevents me. Having suffered something so terrible makes me completely unable to deceive and cause someone else’s suffering.
“No, I had no one special, Phae. I had casual sex with people because I was sad and lonely. I suppose I wasn’t a great person.”
I blush, expecting his contempt, but there is nothing bad in his eyes. He’s just amazed. He still thinks I am the most beautiful thing in this damn existence.
“Why were you sad? I mean, how can you be sad on Earth? It’s a nice place, full of nice things. Right?”
“Earth is a beautiful place,” I say, my voice a little shaky. “But it’s also a terrible place. And there are many people, yes, but even in the midst of so many people, you can feel alone like you’re in a desert. And you can’t find someone special, someone who saves you from that emptiness, if you can’t find even yourself.”
Phae strokes my hair. “I’m not sure I understand, but I think I was lucky to have my special one here with me.”
The ease with which he expresses his feelings kills me a little. A lump grows in my throat and almost chokes me.
Phae frowns. “I made you sad again. I’m an idiot.”
I shake my head. “You aren’t an idiot. Listen, Phae. Maybe I need a favor from you, when I’m done teaching you making love.”
“No problem.” He smiles. “You are my Prince. Happy to.”
“Later I’ll explain. Now we have to continue the lesson.”
The anxiety on his face makes me smile, and his steel-hard shaft pressed on my belly excites me. He swallows noisily.
“You do trust me, right?” I ask.
Not even the slightest hesitation. “Sure.”
I put my hand on his cheek. “I promise you’ll enjoy the thing I’m going to teach you a lot. I know it may seem disgusting, but it’s sweet and it’s a great way to feel the two of us connected.”
He nods, but with my chatting I only get him more confused. I sigh. “Our first problem is lubrication. Let me think. We could use saliva.”
He simply looks at me, confident in me.
“I could lick your dick,” I explain, “and then—”
“Sorry, but….” He blinks, still looking a little upset. “But if you do this, you won’t have the opportunity to teach me much more.”
True. I can’t help but chuckle under my breath. I gave him a blow job and he fainted. It could happen again.
“So, you could lick it, but….”
His eyes widen. “Licking at your….”
I choke back another giggle. “Yes.”
He stares at me a bit suspiciously. Maybe he still thinks I’m kidding him.
“Never mind,” I say, shrugging. “A lot of people don’t like licking at that place.”
    “But do you like
