longer. Waves
of pleasure came crashing down on me as I released a loud scream. My hands dug
into the sheets as I trembled beneath him.
Jake let go a moment later, his body jerking as he exploded
inside of me. “Oh God Chloe,” he cried out, throwing his head back. I clenched
around him, writhing beneath him, and drawing out every ounce of pleasure. He
collapsed on top of me, and rested his forehead against mine.
“That was amazing,” he panted.
We lay like that until our climaxes subsided, and we caught
our breaths. Jake rolled off me and turned to his side looking down at me. He
traced his finger down my jaw and tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
I smiled back at him, happiness spreading through every
fiber of my being. I still couldn’t believe I was married to Jake Powers, and
was lying next to him after making love. We had been through so much together.
It had been one year to the day that he contacted me looking
for a wife, and here we were, a year later on our honeymoon. I shook my head in
disbelief thinking over the course of our relationship.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked.
“Just about work,” I answered.
“Should I be offended that my new bride is thinking about
work on our honeymoon?” he teased.
“No, because it involves you. I was just thinking about how
you are another one of my satisfied clients. I’ve saved you from a life of
bachelorhood,” I said smugly.
“You can’t count this,” he laughed pointing at us.
“Why not? You came to me looking for a wife, and I’ve found
you a wife. One that meets all your requirements, I might add.”
“Hmm, remind me again what they were,” he drawled, pulling
my back against his chest as he nuzzled his lips against my neck.
“Do I not laugh at your jokes? Am I not ambitious? Don’t
you find me naturally pretty?” I teased. He stayed silent and I turned around
to scowl at him. “Well?” I prodded.
“I suppose you’ll do,” he said. “But there’s one more thing
I require of a wife.”
I looked down at my feet coyly, reminded of the reason Jake
was looking for a wife in the first place. My hands itched to cup my slightly
rounded belly, an impulse I had felt compelled to do for the past month. I still
hadn’t told Jake; I wanted to pick the perfect moment and surprise him, but
everyday it grew harder and harder to keep this secret.
“We have time,” he said soothingly, afraid he had scared me
off.
I nervously chewed on my lower lip, debating with myself if
I should let the cat out of the bag. Jake looked at me anxiously, his head
cocked to the side. “Chloe? What’s wrong?”
I looked up at him then; stared deep into his eyes and saw
the love pouring out from him and broke out into a wide grin. Now was the time,
I knew. Everything was perfect.
“As a matter of fact, I have met all your expectations.
Maybe even exceeded them,” I said as I rubbed my stomach. He looked at me
questioningly before his face broke out into a huge grin as realization dawned
on him.
“Do you mean—? Are you—?”
I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. He hugged me tight
against him and rolled me on top of him as he threw his head back and laughed.
“Chloe, my darling girl! You’ve made me so happy.”
“You make me happy too, Jake,” I said.
“I never knew what to expect when I first contacted you, but
you’re the best thing to ever happen to me. And now you’ve given me the gift of
a child. I—I’m just so happy,” he gushed.
The look of heartfelt pleasure on Jake’s face gave me a deep
overwhelming feeling of satisfaction and joy. I was so proud that I was the one
who could make him feel that way. I got choked up thinking about it.
“So now do you admit that you’re satisfied with my
matchmaking services?” I asked trying to lighten the mood.
“More than satisfied. Do you want me to write you a
testimonial?” he joked.
“Yes, and referrals would be nice too.”
