highly doubt one werewolf is going to take off with me.”
“That’s not the point Jessi. We don’t even know if he is working alone or not and I didn’t know where you were anything could’ve happened.”
“Well genius you could’ve called my cell phone,” I reached in my back pocket in emphasis my point and pulled out my cell phone waving in front of his face.
He just stood there back to looking at his feet rubbing the back of his neck.
“Well I didn’t think about that,” I just rolled my eyes, grabbed his arm, and pulled him into the elevator. “Come on over reactor we got a dog to catch.“ Jason laughs and we agree to change and arm up then meet in my room in an hour.
An hour later we are standing by the little table in my room staring at aerial maps off the mountains where hikers last spotted Devoncourt. The trail seemed easy enough, it was the storm coming in tonight I was worried about. I suggested we put it off for another night, but like Jason said we don’t know if he has help and we could possibly lose him.
Walking out into the lobby people stop to stare. I guess if I was them not know who I am I would stare too. Jason and I both are in all black military gear with mini Uzi’s strapped to our back with straps that run from around our waist, across our torsos to around our shoulders holding silver glacier rounds. I have both of my 9mm Berettas in my shoulder holster, four daggers strapped to each thigh, and silver throwing stars attached to my cargo pockets.
Two hours later we finally reach the mountains where Charles was last seen. The idiot didn’t even try to cover his tracks. It’s almost as if he wanted to be followed.
We walked down a ridge for about another mile when we finally spotted the cave entrance.
“Alright Jason what’s the game plan?”
“Well we can start by going in and shooting the fucker.”
I shrug, “alright sounds good to me.”
Just as we are about to enter the cave small rocks fell down the side of the ridge. Three very large and very growling men step into view.
Jason pushes me towards the entrance, “Jess go inside and whatever you do don’t come out.”
“But what about you?”
Jason grabs my shoulders and kisses me on the forehead, “don’t worry about me I’ll be fine,” he whispers. “What about Devoncourt?” I asked.
“If you see him, pump his ass full of silver. Now go!” he yelled shoving me into the cave.
Behind me I hear ripping, snarling, and a lot of gunshots. I run further into the cave stumbling around in the dark. How in the hell does he expect me to shoot anything in here. I can’t even see five feet in front of me. I guess I got pretty far into the cave because once I stopped running to listen for any sounds from outside all I got was complete silence. So, either Jason killed those bastards or, oh god I don’t even want to think about it, or I ran further than I thought. After a few more minutes of staring into blackness my eyes started to adjust to the darkness of the cave. I hear a scrape above me. I spin around and aim upwards into the cave.
Charles drops down behind me from a ledge above. Jason is nowhere in sight. He wraps his big arm around my neck and presses what feels like a knife into the middle of my back. I start to struggle to try and pull away but he just squeezed me tighter and pressed his knife further into my spine.
“Stop moving my sweet or I just might accidentally sever your spine.”
“Fuck you asshole let me go,” I say between gritted teeth.
“Not yet. Me and you are gonna have a nice little chat.”
“I don’t have a damn thing to say to you other than fuck off and die!”
He leans into the side of my neck and breathes in, taking in my scent which leaves chills running down my spine and not in a good way, “such dirty words for such a pretty little girl.”
Just as I was about to speak there was a noise coming from a tunnel just to the right of us. After a few seconds a bloody and half
