occasions I’d been out with her now.
Sitting there with our families that second night, I’d found it challenging to not stare at her boobs in front of our family members. I felt like she’d worn the dress to taunt me with her cleavage, but how could that be possible? As far as I knew, neither of us had had any clue we were about to become related, so it wasn’t like she could’ve planned to wear it for my benefit. Besides, the look of pure shock on her face when she’d seen me walk in proved that she hadn’t known; same as me. I’d just managed to hide my surprise better than she had.
It felt dirty, rubbing my cock and thinking about Rory, who was now effectively my stepsister, and I wasn’t a guy who was opposed to the filthiest, dirtiest sex you could imagine. Unfortunately, I knew our families expected us to act like brother and sister now.
    And it was killing me.
So much for my Dad’s advice to go and track down the dream girl from my date. I’d already found her, but the situation was more of a nightmare than a dream. If there was one person in the world whom I didn’t want to upset, it was my father…and fucking his new wife’s daughter might just upset him a little bit.
    Or a lot.
With a groan, I let go of my cock, which was still begging for release, and I turned off the TV and shook my head to get all the forbidden thoughts of sweet Rory out of my mind. Out of sight, out of mind, right? I’d just have to make sure to stay out of Rory’s path, and I’d soon get over my obsession.
If she’d given me even the smallest indication of wanting me earlier, I didn’t think I could’ve held back. It was tempting enough having her around, seeing her lips part when she said my name and her body trembling when I was close to her, but she didn’t want me for obvious reasons, and even though I was a prick, I was definitely not the kind of guy to force myself on a girl.
I’d wanted to explain the whole Candice situation to her back in her room, but she’d made it clear that she didn’t care and just wanted to forget about that whole night at Clancy’s, seeing as we were officially stepsiblings now. I wasn’t really okay with that, but I wasn’t going to go against her wishes, and to be fair, she had a pretty good point. We were related now, even though I couldn’t stand that fact, so I guess we needed to act like it and forget about that first night.
Fuck, I wished she’d given me a chance to explain, though. Even just five seconds would have been better than nothing. I guess it didn’t matter, though, because even if I explained the Candice thing to Rory, there was still the matter of me lying and pretending to be her blind date in the first place, and she didn’t strike me as the type of girl who was okay with dishonesty in any shape or form.
My phone started ringing a moment later, knocking me out of my reverie. Thankful for the distraction, I answered with a curt hello.
“Finn? We have a bit of a situation with the Christmas decorations.”
Elijah’s voice on the other end of the line was nervous, and before giving me time to reply, he launched into story-time about what was happening in the hotel lobby.
I listened calmly, even though it was supposedly a day off for me. It wasn’t uncommon for Elijah to call me with some sort of situation when he couldn’t get hold of Dad, and sometimes it felt like I bore the brunt of his job as well.
With Christmas only six weeks away, we needed to hurry up with decorating the hotel and getting into the Christmas spirit, which I was sure would’ve gone just fine if we hadn’t left Elijah in charge.
Now there’d been a situation with the tree in the lobby, a broken set of glass ornaments, and an assistant with a cut on her arm from trying to salvage some of them. And don’t even get me started on the menu for the annual hotel Christmas Eve bash, which was an utter disaster under Elijah’s supervision. Who the hell wanted a fancy-ass ice
