carat tennis bracelet he got her. She sold the bracelet Austin bought her. She felt it held a bad memory and she didn’t want to wear it.
“George, did I tell you I got engaged?” She said waving her hand in his face.
“Good lord , who is this lucky man? I’m happy for you, Minkas, you deserve it. And taking from that ring, he could take care of you very well, I see.”
“Yes , he can. I can’t keep accompanying you or keep our little arrangement going on either. I’m sure my fiancé wouldn’t like It.” she smiled.
“ Minkas, I’m an old man. You never judged me and you always came through when I needed you. You deserve to be happy. And don’t worry about the condos, they will still be paid like always.” George winked at her.
“Thank you , George.” Minka leaned across the table and kissed him on the cheek.
In the far corner, Sasha sat with her iPhone out catching a photo and saving it on her phone. She was there with her sponsor, Walton Andrews, the CEO of Citibank. To say he was paid would be an understatement. Sasha had to get money wherever she got it from. True, she had her own company with her sister but it didn’t afford her to drive a Lamborghini or Porsche. She would be damned driving a two year old leased BMW like her sister. What Donovan didn’t know couldn’t hurt him. Not like she cared about him, anyways, she just needed him to be close.
Later that night, Minka lay in bed at her grandparents’ house with her gown and heels still on. She had a nice evening with George. He had sent her home early and deposited a hundred grand in her account as a wedding gift. She would miss that old man. He was a  sweet person and never degraded her. He always treated her with utmost respect. Minka was staring at the ceiling when her phone beeped indicating she had a message.
Let’s stop playing the games, Miami here I come.
She threw her phone on the night stand. She needed to put this to a stop with Austin and she didn’t understand why he was harassing her when he had a wife. She knew one thing. She was not going to allow him to humiliate her anymore. She was going to be Micah’s wife and, one day, the mother of his children. She couldn’t keep living the life she was living. If she wanted to be treated like a wife she needed to act like a wife. She didn’t want to reveal what she did to Micah, so she figured if she stopped that way she would never have to.

    Chapter Twelve

Ashley had just come back from a romantic weekend in Atlantic City with Juelz. She and Juelz had been getting along and falling in love all over again and she was enjoying it. He upgraded her car and re-did the whole apartment. Ashley was able to scale back on how many hours she worked at the hospital, so she could spend more time with Ashland. Ashley was in the kitchen cooking brunch while Ashland and Juelz were at the park when someone knocked on the door.
“Hold on ,” Ashley yelled, while putting the muffins in the oven. Then she walked over to open the door.
“Hey , Ash. Remember me, your best friend?” Minka said pushing her way into the apartment.
“What are you doing here , Minka?” Ashley replied trying not to stutter.
“I came to tell you the good news in person . I’m getting married!”
“What? Wow, who is this man and why haven’t I met him?” Minka went to sit in the living room and took a seat, she needed to fill her girl in on what had been going on. She looked around the apartment a little confused.
“You redecorated? Since when? I thought you liked it before.”
“I did but people change and I needed one.” Ashley murmured being inexplicit about the real reason.
Right after Ashley’s statement Juelz and Ashland came through the door and if looks could kill Juelz would be dead. Ashland ran to Minka and she hugged and kissed her godson. He had gotten so
