in there. This is going to be fun.” She happily dug into the rest of her food.
Michael ate a few more bites himself, but he was totally distracted. “Seeing you this excited gets me even hornier. Maybe we should come up with some kind of top-ten sex wish list or something. Then we could check them off like a treasure hunt.”
“ Hm , that plan has some definite merit,” she agreed. “I love games. And speaking of treasures, you should’ve seen my boss this morning. He’s normally such a cool guy, but when the panties were discovered he had to put on the disapproval hat big-time.”
“That’s right, you haven’t told me what happened at the office. Who found the panties?”
Michael had watched Piper tuck them into a crevice of a chair in the conference room. She’d been hopeful they’d be found at the first meeting of the day, one that she was scheduled to attend, but she’d stuck them in pretty far to make it look like they could’ve been there for days.
“It was brilliant!” she said, her face animated. “It was Bobby, the marketing genius who’s a total nerd. He picked them up without knowing what they were and dropped them like a hot potato right on the table once he figured it out. I had to look away so I didn’t crack.” Piper laughed. “Then Becca, the one who has a serious stick up her ass, plucked them right up and took them to Larry’s office. They called in HR and made a huge deal out of it. An hour later, they called an all-office meeting—in the same boardroom, I might add”—Piper was positively gleeful—“and gave us all a talking-to about proper office etiquette. Larry also said they were going to ‘look into it further,’ and that was it.”
“How are they going to look into it further?” Michael asked, taking his last bite of food and setting the container on his desk. “Are they going to watch the security footage?”
Piper shrugged. “I’m sure they will. But we took enough precautions. I’m not worried. We left separately, and the level you parked my car on had no cameras. They’ll see you left alone, but they won’t know where you were. I left half an hour later, went out on Level B, and walked three blocks to where you picked me up. I can also argue that the panties are not my size and could’ve been placed there at any time. They’ve got nothing on us. I just happened to be there working late, but so was the other person we heard last night. And there’s a possibility that other people came in early for work. Who said it had to happen at night?”
“Do you know who it was who came in? Did anyone say anything?”
“Nope.” Piper grabbed a napkin. “Not a word. I’m sure I’ll get called in when they find out I was working. I’m not sure if they’ll recognize you with a hat on, which was the plan, but I’m not going to say anything if they don’t. You could’ve been the mysterious guy who came in and met whoever else was here. It’s a perfect cover, actually.”
“It’s going to be interesting to find out who came in while we were there.”
“No matter what, it won’t be as interesting as what’s about to happen under your desk.”

P iper stayed in the stall until the bathroom cleared out. There were only a few female lawyers—typical firm run by men—but there were a bunch of female office assistants and paralegals. She wanted people to think she was still in here, just in case. It wasn’t her intent to put Michael’s job in jeopardy.
The bathroom was fairly close to Michael’s office, so if she waited until the bathroom was empty and ducked out quick, she should be able to get back undetected.
It helped that this was happening around lunchtime. Most of the lawyers took client lunches or went out together to discuss cases.
She exited the stall and washed her hands. As she dried them, she glanced in the mirror and smiled. She couldn’t help feeling like she was back somehow. Though
