wondered how often she was in here to warrant a question like that. “I’m just here for the weekend with my brother.”
    “Where is he?”
I pointed to the DJ booth.
“Your brother is Ben’s new beau? Wow. I’ve heard he’s quite something. Ashley, isn’t it?”
I nodded as I began to wonder how on earth he’d met this guy in the first place.
“So, what are you doing here? Other than your brother? You can’t possibly be single.”
    I smiled. “It’s complicated.”
She nodded. “So, where is he? Or she?”
“He is doing family stuff this weekend.”
    “So how is it complicated?”
I was slightly taken aback at her forward approach but maybe speaking to another female, an outside point of view, would do me some good.
“He’s my boss. We’ve had more sex than conversations. It won’t go anywhere.”
“Ah.” She curled her fingers around my arm, causing me to jump in surprise. “Never mix business and pleasure. It always ends in tears. Is he hot?”
I grinned. “Like you wouldn’t believe.”
“Well, the way I see it, you’re just enjoying him for sex.” She trailed her nails up and down my arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps in her wake. “Which means…”
My heart skipped a beat. I couldn’t deny she was alluring to say the least. Hell, I was a woman and even I found myself attracted to her. As much as I had always been curious about being with a girl, I knew for a fact if I did it, I would regret it afterwards. I knew I would feel dirty and wish it hadn’t happened. However, I couldn’t ignore the fact that the curiosity was there.
I stuttered, distracted by her gentle touch as she crept closer to me. I couldn’t stop looking at her; she bewitched me in a way I’d never known before.
She smiled before biting her plump red lips. My heart rate spiked as she moved into me, our chests touching as her fingers wandered up my arm.
I felt trapped, helpless. She was like a vampire luring in its next meal—seducing it into a good time before ripping its heart out and devouring it.
So lost in my thoughts, I didn’t even realise when her mouth casually brushed over mine. By the time I’d understood what was happening, I was enveloped in her charms, allowing her to kiss me. When I finally registered the fact a woman was kissing me, I wriggled out from under her grip, babbling my apologies.
“Tess, leave her alone for goodness sake,” a deep voice boomed from next to me. I turned around to see a burly dark-haired guy stood with Ash, their arms around each other.
Tessa grinned before releasing me from her clutches, hugging the guy and then Ash.
Ash stepped forwards, his beaming smile telling of his happiness. “Ky, this is Ben.”
Ben took my hand, gracing it with a tender kiss. We swapped pleasantries before they disappeared back into the darkness.
Tessa appeared back at my side. “He’s nearly finished his set. He’ll be back soon.”
I nodded, shuffling some space between us with a nervous smile.
She laughed. “I’m sorry. I get a bit carried away when I see someone I like.”
I smiled. “Sure. No hard feelings.”
My bag vibrated with another text.

Paul: So, where have you gone, sexy legs? Xx

Me: Some seedy club called The Tiger’s Eye. There are definitely tigers in here. xx

Tessa bought me a drink as an apology, gesturing for us to take a seat in one of the red booths on the other side of the room. I accepted, pleased to have a seat and someone to chat to whilst Ash was enjoying himself with his new bloke.

Paul: I bet they’re all cubs compared to you. ;-) xx

Me: I actually doubt that. xx

Paul: Well, why don’t you catch one and let me know? ;-) xx

I giggled before ignoring his text, stuffing my phone back in my bag.
Tessa and I indulged in some small talk before she gestured towards the dance floor. I hesitated, which only served her to run over to the bar, reappearing with six shot glasses. I balked at the Sambuca shots,
