the precinct at the end of the day, it’s who we are, how we are.”
“Probably why you’re both still single,” Ella commented wryly, enjoying the fire of the smooth liquor as she took another sip. She rarely drank any liquor straight, but the enveloping warmth and slight buzz the brandy was giving her relaxed her. She didn’t realize how badly she needed that; but, apparently, Sam did.
“Probably. Finding women to indulge us by giving up control in the bedroom isn’t difficult, finding one to give it up to us as a lifestyle is more than likely impossible.”
“You’d like that? Having a woman do nothing but your bidding, day and night, not having a mind of her own? You want a doormat.”
Sam smiled down at her, glad to see she was relaxing enough to banter with him. “No, you’ve got it wrong. I admire strong women, such as you.”
“Me?!” she squeaked, surprised. In her opinion, she wasn’t strong in the least. How could she be strong if she enjoyed being bent over and spanked like a naughty child?
“Yes, you, even though I know you don’t see yourself that way. There’s no way you could be a head trauma nurse in one of this city’s largest hospitals and not be strong.”
“Maybe I just have to be a cold hearted bitch.”
“I’m sure there are plenty that are, but you’re not one of them. That’s where your strength comes in. I’ve seen your empathy with Melanie, and I don’t believe it’s just because she’s your friend. I think it’s your compassion and caring that make you so good at what you do, and your strength that enables you to remain true to yourself.”
Suspicion had her frowning up at him, wondering how a few sexual encounters made him think he knew her so well. “You deduced all this about me just from the few times we’ve…”
“You’ve turned yourself over to me? No, I, we, learned quite a bit about you from the background check we did on you.”
Her first reaction was outrage; but, at Sam’s warning look, she subsided and then realized it would only make sense that they check her out before considering her offer of help, especially since she wasn’t a cop. “I suppose you had to do that, but I don’t have to like it,” she finally muttered reluctantly.
“I’m sure it’s not going to be the only thing we’re going to do that you won’t like in the next few weeks.” Sam smiled at her pouty look, a look that had his cock stirring. Setting his drink on the table, he turned to the black bag Ella had noticed earlier when he had retrieved the plug that was still snuggled in her rectum. “For instance,” he said as he pulled a few things from the bag that she couldn’t see, “I know you lost your parents while in college, were practically adopted by Melanie’s family, graduated with honors, got a masters in trauma nursing while working full time as a floor nurse. Within a year, you got your transfer to the emergency room; and, three years after that, you were promoted to head trauma nurse.”
Ella was only half listening to him. The view of his strong, muscled back and tight buttocks had taken most of her attention. It was only as he turned back around, saying, “And all before you were thirty,” that she noticed the items in his hand.
Taking the now empty glass from her hand, he set it down and picked up her right wrist. “So,” he said as he slipped the soft cuff around her wrist, “no, I don’t find doormats desirable. I do, however, find a woman who is not only willing but needing to give up that strong independence whenever she’s with me desirable.” He attached the second cuff to her other wrist. “How does that feel?”
“Fine,” she replied, liking the feel of the leather against her skin, liking even more the significance of the cuff with the small silver clasps made for attaching them.
“Good. Turn down the bed and lay in the middle.”
Ella took no notice of her easy compliance, but Sam did. She was a natural, he thought with
