Try to buy a nylon bag that is water resistant with foam shoulder straps and ensure that your bag has side pockets so that the weight is evenly distributed throughout. Water and food are the first things to put in your bug-out bag, you will need to have enough food to last you three – five days at a minimum (if you can carry more easily, do so).
