Touch. That sounds cool. How do I do it?â
âThe Secret Ninja Death Touch is a part of Dim Mak . Death-point striking, itâs called,â Agent Doe explained. âItâs the deadliest system of self-defense ever created. You should only use it in life-or-death situations. There are only a few Dim Mak masters in the world.â
âWhere did you learn it?â
âFrom a guy I met in Iraq. He learned it from a sergeant who fought in Vietnam. And he learned it from a South Vietnamese Dim Mak master.â
âWhat do I do?â
âThe idea is that you can totally immobilize an opponent by applying intense pressure to his most vulnerable areas. There are forty-three major target areas on the human body. They are neurological shutdown points. If you interrupt and manipulate your attackerâs nervous and circulatory systems, those systems shut down almost instantly.â
âAwesome!â
âIn the first second he feels pain,â Agent Doe explained. âIn the second, numbness sets in. And in the third, he becomes unconscious.â
âWhat happens in the fourth second?â I asked.
âDeath,â he said simply. âThatâs why itâs called the Secret Ninja Death Touch.â
âAnd you donât even have to hit the guy?â
âCorrect, sir. Go ahead, grab me from behind.â
I went behind Agent Doeâs back and wrapped my arm around his huge neck.
âOkay, you got me good and tight, right, sir?â he asked.
âRight.â
âI canât escape, right?â
âRight.â
At that point, Agent Doe reached behind him and placed his thumb on a part of my body. I canât tell you what part because I know that if I did, some of you lunatics reading this would go and try it on your friends. Youâre going to have to take my word for this. He touched me with his thumb and put pressure on that part of my body.
I didnât feel anything at first, but after about a second I felt a little numb.
âSee? Youâre helpless, arenât you?â
âYeah,â I grunted.
âIf I wanted to totally immobilize you I would increase the pressure,â Agent Doe explained. âIn a few seconds you would pass out. But I wonât do that, of course, because â¦â
That was the last thing I remember before I passed out.
âPresident Moon! Mr. President!â shouted Chief Usher Honeywell. He and the White House doctor were leaning over me, holding a cold washcloth against my forehead. All I knew was that I was alive, and I was lying down somewhere. âWh-what happened?â I asked foggily. âWhere am I?â
âOn the roof of the White House, sir,â Honeywell explained. âYou were unconscious!â
âIâm sorry, Mr. President,â blubbered Secret Service Agent Doe. âIt was an accident!â
I looked up and saw that three other Secret Service agents were holding Agent Doeâs arms behind his back, the way cops on TV hold criminals. They were snapping handcuffs around Agent Doeâs wrists. His gun had been taken away from him.
âYou have the right to remain silent,â one of the agents explained to Agent Doe. âAnything you say may be used against you ââ
âI wasnât trying to hurt the president!â sobbed Agent Doe. âYouâve got to believe me! Protecting the president is my whole life! Itâs the only thing I care about!â
The agents started dragging Agent Doe away.
âWait!â I said, struggling to my feet. âTake the handcuffs off him. Heâs telling the truth.â
The agents stopped dragging Agent Doe away, but they didnât let go of him.
âIt was all my fault,â I explained. âI forced him to show me some martial arts moves. I didnât tell him to stop in time. Let him go, please.â
In five minutes, the head of the Secret Service arrived at the White House.
