Laura…”
The euphoria of the moment quickly faded as he faced the reality of their relationship. He swallowed the pain and looked at her. “I know.” He reached for her hand and set a gentle kiss in her palm. “That was great.”
“It was.”
“I didn’t hurt you, did I?” He asked again, wanting to be sure.
“No, I loved it. You surprised me.” She pulled on her panties and slipped the mini dress over her head.
“I’m full of surprises.”
“So I see. Tell you the truth I didn’t think you had it in you… that fury, that fire. You're usually so… quiet and gentle. Where did this wild beast come from? I mean…” She hesitated a moment while her guarded eyes focused on the floor. “Is this something you recently picked up?”
He heard the accusation behind the question. Had he slept with anyone new? Shrugging, he chuckled nervously. “I guess the beast has always been there… dormant.”
“You certainly seemed to know what you were doing.”
He shrugged again, fearful of the direction the conversation had taken. “It’s just something I experienced once… a long, long time ago. I was just a teen then and didn’t really appreciate it.” He pressed an innocent smile. “I guess I was too horny no matter what was presented to me and I didn’t understand the need for this kind of thing.”
“And now?”
“I think you bring out that animal in me. You make me feel wild and you make me want to do wild things with you. You make me want to open up and show you all that I am.”
Patting her dress smooth, she looked suspiciously at him. “And who did you experience this wild abandonment with? I’d think there weren’t a lot of teen girls running around letting teen boys dominate them.”
Sebastian buttoned up his shirt and glanced at the clock. “We better hurry before you're late.”
Grinding her teeth together and clenching her fists, Serena glared menacingly at him. “Who, Sebastian?”
He didn’t want the afternoon to end on a bad note. It’d been such an idyllic hour spent with her and he knew his answer would ruin everything. “Please, Serena, let’s not…”
“It’s Willow, isn’t it?”
“Serena.”
“Answer me! Is it Willow?”
“It was such a long time ago.”
Serena grabbed the ice bucket off the desk and hurled it at him. “You just fucked me the way you fucked her?” she shouted.
“No. This had nothing to do with her.”
“Liar. Just like everything that’s come out of your mouth since I first met you is a lie.” Grabbing her purse, she headed to the door.
“Serena, wait. This is crazy. My time with you has nothing to do with Willow.”
“It had everything to do with her. You’re still with her…probably going to marry her!”
“Please, let me bring you home.”
“I’ll take a cab.”
“Please, don’t leave like this. Serena, not like this.”
She turned to face him with venom in her hate filled glare. “You're a pig, Sebastian Sorensen. A real pig.” She stomped out and slammed the door so hard, the picture frame on the wall fell to the worn out stained carpeting.
Chapter 10
“Serena.” Sebastian slammed his palm into the thin door before she could get it open and walk out. “I’m not going to let you leave like this.”
“Great. Are you going to try to prove that you can be just as controlling as Price?”
“Exactly the opposite.” Grasping her shoulders, he turned her around and firmly pushed her back into the door. His gaze softened as he fingered a lock of her hair. “I want to show you that I’m nothing like Price.”
Serena cast her gaze down to the ugly carpeting.
“I want you to look at me, Serena.” He directed her gaze to his. “I want you to see how much I love you. This has nothing to do with Willow. She was my past. And yes, she and I had a physical relationship when we were teens, but now there is nothing. Although she
