    He stopped her. “ You ’ re going to ruin your dress to save your shoes? ”
    “ I
don ’ t know what the hell I ’ m doing right now. ”
    “ Do
they mean something to you? Those shoes? ”
    “ They ’ re not shoes. They ’ re heels. And yes, they mean
something. ”
    Colby shook his head. He then tore
his shirt up over his head and tossed it to Tessa. He took out his cell and
wallet, putting it in her hand. He dove headfirst into the water, through a
small wave.
    What the hell am I doing right
now? Jumping into the ocean for this woman …
    Behind him, Colby heard Tessa yell, “ Wait! I was …”

    “… just joking …”
    But it was too late. Colby was
already in the water. He grabbed the heels, turned, and stood up. He could
easily reach the bottom from where he was. The water was just below his
waistline, leaving the top half of his body - no freaking shirt on -
glistening with water against the moonlight.
    Tessa begged to not let her jaw
literally drop.
    Colby walked from the water with a
sense of confidence that made him impossible to refuse. The way water dripped
down his body was like a dream to Tessa. It was like he had been cut from
stone. His chest perfect, his stomach muscles endless. They darted down into
his jeans, leaving Tessa ’ s
eyes and imagination running wild.
    Colby stuck his hand out and said, “ Here. They ’ re soaked but they ’ re not lost. ”
    “ You
know what I paid for these? ” Tessa asked.
    Colby ran a hand through his wet
hair. If he looked sexy on stage doing that move, it was ten times hotter with
him shirtless and soaking wet.
    “ I
don ’ t know, ” he said. “ How much? ”
    “ Five
bucks, ” Tessa said. “ I was just kidding. I didn ’ t think you were going to …”
    “ Great, ” Colby said.
    He grabbed his shirt, cell, and
wallet. He turned, reached down for his shoes, and then started to walk away.
    Tessa froze for a second.
    Was he pissed off?
    After a few seconds, she chased
after Colby. She grabbed his arm. “ Wait.
Are you mad? ”
    “ Why
would I be mad? ”
    “ You
jumped in the water …”
    “ That
would make me mad? What kind of guys have been you messing around with? ”
    “ Not
many, ” Tessa blurted out.
    She winced and blushed.
    “ Oh? ” Colby asked.
    “ I
mean, I travel a lot. So I don ’ t
really …”
    “ Ah,
I get it. You don ’ t get to know
them. Just one nighters. ”
    “ No! ” Tessa yelled. “ I ’ m
not …”
    Colby laughed. “ Pretty eyes, I ’ m a rockstar. I think I can
understand the idea of a one night stand and not judge anyone by it. ”
    “ Is
that what this is? ”
    Colby stopped walking. “ I don ’ t know. Are we sleeping together tonight? ”
    “ You
don ’ t seem like the type to
make those kinds of plans. ”
    “ If
I ’ m with you … there ’ s plans. ”
    That would have been a good moment
for Tessa to push away from Colby. Maybe slap him. Maybe tell him he stood no
chance in hell.
    But the truth was that it was Tessa
who stood no chance in hell. From resisting her urges for Colby. Because
whatever was going through the rockstar ’ s
mind was the same thing going through her mind.
    Shit …
    They walked for another couple
minutes and Colby stopped next to some rocks. He looked around and then plopped
down on his butt to the sand. He quickly pulled Tessa down. She almost
collapsed on him, which wouldn ’ t
have been such a bad thing, right?
    Then again … she was almost on her side, her right leg over
Colby ’ s. His elbows were in
the sand, his sexy body still glistening with water. She touched his chest and
their eyes met. It could have been the millionth time looking at Colby, but one
thing was for sure - there was something there. Some kind of wild spark.
