inner strength
being with him helped build, and managed to reply, “No. I’m looking forward to
our next little adventure. I believe you promised to instruct me in the proper
usage of your present.”
His chuckle thrilled her to the core. “That I did. Will you
have dinner with me this evening?”
    “Yes.”
“What time would you prefer and where shall I pick you up?”
Temair glanced at the items still in need of her attention
lying on her workbench, then returned her gaze to his. “Will seven be okay? And
you can pick me up here. I live in an upstairs apartment. It’s the door to the
left of the store. Just press the buzzer when you arrive and I’ll let you in.”
“Seven it is,” he answered with a nod. “Any preference of
food or restaurant?”
“I’ll leave that up to you. I’m easy.” As soon as the words
left her mouth, heat seeped into her cheeks. He cupped her chin and forced her
gaze to return to his.
“No, Temair,” he stated as he leaned in close. His accent
danced along her ears, sending chills skating down her arms. The heat of his
breath caressed her lips. “You are one highly sexual, intelligent, complicated,
beautiful woman and that’s anything but easy.”
He kissed her, not hot and hungry like earlier, but soft and
caring, igniting her libido on a whole new level. When he released her, he
whispered, “Until later.” Then turned and walked out of her office.
She stood stock-still, simply staring after him, enthralled
by his admission. Highly sexual. Intelligent. Complicated. Beautiful. Oh
lord, how was she ever going to live up to that?
Lisanne appeared in the doorway. “Care to tell me the juicy
tidbits you obviously left out about last month’s trade show?”
“I…” Temair hesitated. “I met Evan Lyndsay.”
Lisanne’s eyebrow arched and a knowing look showed on her
face. “I’d say you met Evan Lyndsay all right. You should’ve
straightened your desk before you opened the door.” Her laughter followed her
back into the storefront.
Temair froze at the sight of her desk in such a disheveled
mess. The computer was slid to one side. Several files had fallen and lay
scattered across the floor. The picture of her and Lisanne from opening day had
toppled facedown. Temair shook her head. There was no denying sex happened on
that desk.
A smile split her lips. Yep. Sex happened on that desk.

Chapter Seven

Temair’s fingers shook as she pressed the unlock button for
the downstairs door and let Evan into the building. After Evan left earlier,
she didn’t accomplish much. She had trouble digesting the fact she’d had sex on
her desk with a younger man. It was the wildest thing she’d ever done in her
office. She had a feeling it was because of his age that she’d acted on
instinct and lived in the moment as he had said. Part of her was
thrilled at the sexual victory, while the sensible side of her nature
reprimanded her for being so irresponsible. A woman her age should’ve known
better and acted more like a lady than a tramp. The thought took root and
tormented her for most of the afternoon, preventing her from working.
Right now, the age difference didn’t seem to bother him, but
it was just the start of their relationship. She felt certain eventually it would cause an issue. Lisanne’s pep talk had eased some of her anxiety. Her
words whispered through Temair’s head and made her smile. Enjoy this for as
long as there’s gas in his machine and you’re the one he’s taking for the ride.
She still couldn’t believe she wasn’t fully dressed. But
when he sent her a text message earlier with a special request, she couldn’t
deny him. The low tap on her door fueled her excitement. Opening it, she smiled
at the sight on the other side. Her sexy younger man stood holding a bouquet of
flowers. He wore a dark suit with a deep-navy-blue shirt and a black-and-blue
tie befitting his style.
“Not too corny, I hope?” He handed them to her. A sensual
promise
