“Is today advanced notice enough? I want to celebrate with her tomorrow in private,” I suggested.
Always serious, Ted asked, “What are you celebrating? Your retirement isn’t for another week.”
My grin grew bigger; my face beaming brightly, I bragged, “Baby number seven.”
“Vegas?”
I nodded. “Yep, I guess that did it for us. It’s been three years. I thought the baby making days were done. I guess her body just needed a break.”
“Well, we’re going to need you two to pick up the kids on Wednesday because we have our own celebration planned,” Ted admitted with his own shit-eating grin.
“Congrats, bro,” I said as I hugged my big brother.
He made a face, scrunching his nose. “You might want to wash up before you go back into the office,” he said with a smirk.
I said goodbye to the jerk, then went in search for my wife. I texted the office that I was running late. Not that I was working on anything anyway since I was retiring soon. I wanted to see if I had time for one more round. I checked on my little girl and knew I had at least a half hour.
I heard her in the shower and thought it was perfect. Opening the door, I went in, stripping on my way to join her. I climbed in behind her, gripped her wet hair tightly, and growled, “Say Uncle.”
