perhaps a second before she crossed the room towards him. She quaked as she stood before him, staring into his shadowed face from beneath the fan of her lashes. As her gaze roamed his hard, muscled, naked body, she considered for possibly the hundredth time how she’d ended up here, with this man, when she’d sworn she never would. Teresa didn’t even bother adding Jason to the equation, because the notion was simply too overwhelming.
She’d sworn she couldn’t stand Jeff Downing, that she loathed him, that he was an immature playboy interested in nothing more than chasing skirts. Then she’d sworn she’d never be one among the throng of women who flocked to his bed, because he didn’t know what it meant to be a one-woman man, and Teresa had never taken to the idea of being just another notch on Jeff Downing’s belt.
He reached out his hand to cup her cheek, and she closed her eyes as his rough palm caressed her skin. When he touched her, she didn’t feel like another in a line of many. Teresa’s eyes fluttered open, and she lost herself in the ocean blue waves cresting in his gaze. When Jeff looked at her— whenever he looked at her—she felt as though she was the only woman he saw, that there was no one but the two of them in the entire world.
Jason shifted behind her, reminding Teresa that she and Jeff weren’t the only two people in the world, and certainly not in that room, but for a moment it had just been the two of them.
The thought which flickered into her mind then was so startling, she had to swallow down the lump in her throat. It was so unexpected, and so unwelcome that Teresa refused to even acknowledge it, but when Jeff’s eyes sharpened on her, she wondered for the third time that night…could he somehow hear her inner thoughts or was her face that open to him, her emotions that easy to read?
She glanced away, because she wasn’t yet ready to face the truth—she had feelings for Jeff Downing, real, genuine feelings for the man. She definitely wasn’t ready to reveal this knowledge to him as she kept her gaze averted, but Jeff was not one to let her retreat from him, not ever.
The gentle pressure of his hand brought her attention back to his face, and she held his gaze while his other hand curled around her fingers as one by one he removed them from the shirt she still clutched until the garment slipped to the floor.
She trembled before him, and his smile was gentle, coaxing, as he slowly lowered his head. Jeff’s kiss was just as gentle, just as coaxing, as the warm pressure of his lips seduced her into parting her own. His tongue darted inside, tasting her, teasing her until she let out a small moan.
His kiss melted the last of her reserves and she coiled her arms behind his neck, pressing her body flush against his. She swallowed his hoarse groan, at the same time a soft sigh whispered out of her with the feel of his erection nudging against her belly.
Entwined in his arms, Teresa lost count of how many minutes passed, of where she was, even, until she felt the edge of the bed against the back of her knees. Lowering her atop the bed, Jeff positioned her body so that her legs dangled over the side. It was only when he dropped to his knees and hoisted her limbs over his shoulders that she understood why he hadn’t wanted her entire body on the bed.
Next time I will taste you here.
A tiny quiver surged through her as Jeff continued to hold her gaze at the same time he leant forward to bury his face against her pussy. The first swipe of his tongue through her tender, wet folds brought a soft cry to her lips. She ached to close her eyes and loose herself in the bliss of his questing tongue, but Teresa forced herself to maintain their locked gazes, knowing at her core that’s what he wanted. Jeff wanted to look into her eyes as he gave her pleasure, he wanted to revel in the slight blush staining her cheeks, her eyes shimmering with desire, her lips parting slightly when she
