tone and the touch of his callused hand on her skin fuzzled her brain, making her obey. She drew in slower breaths until the panic attack subsided. “You should not care if they know, you are mine.”
“I’m thirty-two years old. No one should be a virgin at this age.”
Zelron tilted his head, cocking a thick, dark eyebrow. The feeling of utter stupidity hit her and heat rushed over her skin in embarrassment. He must be way older than her and never had sex either, but then again, he wasn’t human.
“Your world rejects you and you feel shame? This world you come from, I may not know, but it is something I do not wish to know if they treat their females like this.”
It took a moment for her to comprehend the implications of his words. “You said the females on your world rejected you for your scars.” She twisted in his arms, her legs falling open as she straddled his lap.
“To me, I see a strong beautiful body and a handsome face. This...” She slid her arms around his neck, leaning up to plant little kisses along his handsome jawline, not stopping when her lips reached the rough part of the scar on the side of his face. “…is nothing but sexy, and you, Zelron, are simply wonderful.”
His arms tightened around her and he sighed. “They are — what is the word when either word is not right?”
“I’m not sure, but maybe flawed is the right word —both our worlds are flawed.”
He nodded. “But I see only perfection in you, beautiful Providence. The great Elron is watching over from afar, to bring us together.”
He sure knew what to say to her to settle her fears. He was right; the world she lived in saw her as fat and ugly, and the world he lived in saw him as damaged. She was beginning to think it was more like divine intervention, if not for the whole locked-up-and-experimented-on thing.
“I don’t know who this Elron is, but he has my thumbs-up.”
She cracked a smile when he frowned in confusion. Damn, she felt her chest tighten and her stomach flutter. She knew she was growing way too attached to her big Kelon warrior. No, not mine . It niggled at the back of her mind he was hers only until they found their way to freedom.
Don’t think about it. Take what you have here and now.

Gazing down on his little human female, a sense of pride and wonder filled him. She was all his. To touch, to hold, to possess whenever he chose. More importantly, she was his to treasure, care for and protect.
Afterwards, they washed the sheet and themselves in the small shower, leaving the sheet to dry over the table. She yawned, her lovely, sky blue eyes soft and sleepy. He wanted nothing more than to take her again, but after she explained what caused the blood, he knew she would hurt if he did. He pulled her onto the mattress, held her and stroked her soft, coloured hair until she fell into a restful slumber.
All his life, he’d battled and fought for his people, for their continued freedom. He had no doubt the battle would have been successful in the Alliance’s favour, or the Earth would have been overrun by Xersons, Methrill and many other aliens apart from the Federation.
It was time to stop thinking about his own reckless existence; he had a mate to care for. She filled him with hopes and dreams he never thought possible —family , a little girl with her bright blue eyes, round face and pink lips. A son with his strength, who he could teach hand-to-hand combat, and a home filled with light and love. He wanted it and, like Providence, he would take it.
He eyed the locked door, no doubt weaker than the cells the human males were keeping him in. It was a possibility he could break it down, but could he fight them and protect his new little mate?
Risks he could have taken were no longer an option. Think smart and stay strong.
Inflated masculine pride filled him at how she admired his body and his face, but he hoped the feelings would soon grow deeper.
He glanced back to where the
