himself, an appreciative smirk quickly
crossing his lips. “Sexy.”
“ Dominant,”
I said before sitting next to him.
“ If
you say so.”
“ I
do. I like it, and I'm the Mistress, so I decide what's dominant and
what's not.”
He leaned back and
furrowed his brow. “Your bruises are still there.”
“ I'm
a slow healer.” I shrugged. “At least they don't hurt
anymore.”
“ Have
you been doing all the things I told you?”
“ I
was for a few days, and it did help. They can heal on their own from
here.”
“ It
still pisses me off that he did that to you.”
Micah's eyes were
incredibly intense, and I could almost feel anger radiating from him.
It made me happy that he genuinely seemed to care about me, and
sparked other emotions that I wanted to stifle down. The last thing I
needed was to jump into a relationship with another guy who had to be
in control. That had not served me well with Chet. No, I needed to be
in control, no matter what, to make sure that I was never abused
again. It was strange to think how much my time with Chet had altered
me, changed me as a person.
“ So,
are you busy tomorrow?” I asked.
“ Why?”
“ I
thought we could get started.”
“ We
could get started tonight.”
I felt his
fingertips on my thigh, sending a shiver all the way through my
spine. They brushed across my skin softly, and my body responded
against my will, a needy part of me coming to life, the part of me
that wanted to be held and kissed and forcefully taken. I had
anticipated this though, that he would advance on me. He was a man,
after all, and I was scantily clad and available. This would not
happen unless I was in control of it though. Those were my rules.
With a deep internal
sigh, I placed my hand on top of his, crushing it flat like a bug
before brushing it off of my leg. He gave me a confused look that I
refused to play into. Damn was it hard though. He was a lady-killer,
but he would not take me down with that sexy expression. Not tonight
at least.
“ Tomorrow,”
I said firmly. “It's getting late. I think you should go.”
“ Well
that sounds more authoritative,” he teased me with a gorgeous
smile.
“ I'm
working on it.” I winked at him before standing to show him to
the door.
My heart was
pounding as he followed me, knowing he was probably looking me up and
down with perverted thoughts playing in his head. Would he be able to
keep his hands off of me? I hoped so, because in all honesty, I
wasn't that far from caving. He was such a nice guy. Kind, patient,
funny, attractive. But he was also a Dom, even if he claimed not to
be, and I had to remind myself that Chet was very similar when I
first met him. Guys like them had dark sides that I'd be better off
staying away from.
I
opened the door and he stepped outside, turning toward me and gazing
up at the sky. “ So,
tomorrow then?” Micah said before looking down at me.
“ Tomorrow.”
I nodded.
“ Good
night, beautiful Talia.” He leaned forward, and my breath
hitched as he gently cupped my cheek, brushing his thumb across my
bottom lip. His eyes were fixed on my mouth, and as I looked into
them, I felt like I had been drawn under some type of spell. I
couldn't move, couldn't breath. All I could do was stare at him and
silently yell at myself for being so weak. This was it. I was lost. I
knew it.
Our lips met like a
whisper. My mouth parted to receive him, feeling greedy with need,
but by that time, he was already pulling away. Heat coursed through
me as I silently begged for more.
“ Sleep
sweet, angel,” Micah said softly before leaving me there in the
doorway, staring at him dumbstruck, silently screaming for him to
come back.
CHAPTER SIX
It took everything I
had to walk away from her, to control the beast in me that had fully
awakened and was raring to go. Talia had been through too much for me
not to respect her wishes though. All I needed was a taste. I
couldn't leave without feeling those lips against
