and with no panties it was very easy for him.
It wasn’t long before we had finished making love for the second time that night. I realized that I no longer considered our sex just sex. Somehow over the past three days we had started making love.
I excused myself to shower and change. For the first time since I had broken up with John I didn’t miss him in the shower. When I finished with a hot shower and came out of my room in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He looked at me in awe. “I’ve never seen you wear anything other than a dress. You look absolutely lovely with your hair down. “ He was staring at my body and it was making me a little nervous.
“Thank you.” I could feel the temperature rising in my cheeks. “That’s really nice of you to say.”
“ Nonsense, it’s the truth. You are a truly beautiful woman.”
I had to change the subject. “Would you like a drink?” I asked him.
“Of course, what do you have?”
I walked into the kitchen and looked into my fridge it was scarily bare. I didn’t want him to see it that way. “I got some beer, cheap wine, and pre-mixed margaritas in the freezer.  I also have some water and soda. What would you like?”
“I’ll take a pint.” He told me from the living room.
“ A pint of what?” I had no idea what he was talking about. The only pint I had was ice cream in my secret stash. I hadn’t mentioned that to him. I wasn’t willing to give my ice cream to this Englishman that I just met. Some things were just too far. I smiled to myself at my own stubbornness. I was willing to share my bed and feelings with him but not my ice cream.
    “ Beer.”
I looked at the labels on the bottles. None of them were a pint. “All I’ve got is 12 ounce bottles. Is that OK?” I asked him.
He chuckled again. “That will be fine, Mimi.”
I brought out two beers and pulled out my church key. Popping open the bottles I handed him one and sat barefoot and cross-legged on the couch. “So what do you think of my place?” I asked him.
    “It is absolutely lovely.”
“ I like it, it isn’t very fancy, but it suits me just fine. To be honest I’m more comfortable living like this, barefoot in a pair of jeans.”
“ Really, I think it’s a lovely way to live.” He was smiling. He looked happy and comfortable, leaning back in an easy chair with a beer in his hand.
He took his first sip of the beer and got a strange look on his face. “Is everything OK?” I asked him.
“It tastes a little strange,” he looked at the label. “I’ve never had this brand before.”
“ That’s because it’s cheap American beer. People don’t drink it because it tastes good. It’s like coffee and acquired taste.”
“ That explains it.” He continued to drink his beer, but I had a feeling that it was only to make me happy.
“ I can get you something else.” I offered weakly.
“ No, love, this is fine.” He told me. He was very careful not to hurt my feelings about having the cheapest beer on the market. “I want to know you better. When will you be free to meet with me again?” I could tell that he was trying to take my focus off of the beer.
“ Yeah, I’m pretty sure I can make the time.” I joked with him, giving in to the change of subject. “Do you want me to order take-out?” I asked him.
“ I would like that very much.”
“ What do you want to eat?” We decided on Chinese and I ordered from my favorite place. This time I ordered for him and got a large spread of choices. I had them put it on the card they had on file and came back to the couch. My lover was looking through a woman’s magazine that sat on my coffee table.
“ Enjoying yourself?” I asked him.
“ Yes, apparently I am girlfriend material. I am very relieved. I thought that I was never going to be in a lasting relationship”
I laughed at his joke. “It’s silly I know, but I love those magazines. My girlfriends and I can laugh all night long about them. They do
