It should have been delivered to his other office where he was forced to deal with everyday life, and instead was a black hole threatening to disturb and destroy the life he’d worked so hard to create for himself. Picking it up with two fingers, he pushed the envelope aside to reveal the well-read letter that had been inside. Years of disappointment, pain, and abandonment summed up in three typed paragraphs, leaving him feeling the one thing he couldn’t bear…weakness.
Interrupted by a knock at his door, he pushed the letter aside. It could wait for him until tomorrow at work. After all, that was what Mondays were for. Instead, he needed to focus on the latex clad beauty upstairs waiting for him. Soon he would introduce her to all the pleasures found in The Odyssey, but for now, she was his toy to do with as he pleased.
Another knock, but this time it was only a formality before the person behind it opened the door wide without an invitation.
I should have locked it, he thought to himself.
“Hi ya, sexy." A dark red ponytail bounced through the doorway, and Tab snuck in a bright smile. Leaning into the room, she waited for his invite that came by his surprised smile. She could brighten anyone’s day just with her wicked smile.
Plopping herself in one of the over-stuffed chairs, Tab crossed her legs playfully, kicking her sneaker covered foot at Richard’s leg. She was dressed in an impractical, high fashion tracksuit with the words Licking Good over her butt in bold letters—her typical non-work attire. Not her normal relaxed and giggling self, he knew what was on her mind, and he was not ready for it.
“Before you ask, I’m fine, and I don’t want to talk about it.” His warning hit its mark, and Tab’s concerned crinkled brow pinched tighter for only a second before she relaxed and gave him a smile just a few shades shy of her typical bubbly self.
"So, instead, how about your recent employment opportunities?" Red lips smiled wide and long lashes batted in play.
Groaning in the pain of her questing, Richard fell into his high back chair and resting his elbow on the arm, his face fell into his palm. He was completely taken apart by Tosh and didn't know what to do.
"Please don't insult your intelligence with this innocent play.” He defended. "You know full well what you want to ask, so go ahead and spit it out."
Her eyes wide, she held a hand to her chest in shock. “A lady never spits."
"Then we're fine, ‘cause you’re no lady." Looking up, he leaned back. The leather creaked from under his shifting body, but he failed to find comfort or an escape route. "Now, what do you want to know?"
"Is she as good of a fuck as she looks?"
There it was. At least Tab never disappointed, she had also picked the one question that hurt the most.
"Next question." He set in a knuckle-cracking mood and pressed on, hoping to move on to offering his plans for his upcoming night.
"Since when have you started advertising with cheap flyers at the local JC?" Her question had finally made an honest turn. She had wiped her inner playful girl away and was all business.
"And why do we need to hire a maid with no experience when we already have a service on contract?" The third voice to enter this conversation just added to Richard’s pain. Thomas didn’t wait for the invite that Tab had. Leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, he didn’t look pleased.
“I’d be careful if I were you.” She hoped Thomas took her warning to heart. “I don’t think she can even put him in a good mood.” Tab protected herself by averting the burning glare Richard sent her way.
Taking a reassuring breath, Richard pressed his palms on the desk, trying hard not to look at the envelope, and instead took a couple of calming breaths. Never keeping anything from his business partner, he knew his mistake in not including Thomas in on his plans sooner, but he was about to rectify that.
"To ease both of your minds, I have
