virgin's. It's messy."
She shoved at him. "That's not an answer."
He staggered back a step. "Maybe not." He brushed a kiss over her lips. "I might want to get messy with you."
Her heart ached. She wanted to get messy with Brian and he wanted nothing to do with her. Why did she have to fall in love with a man who didn't want to love her back? Why couldn't she fall for someone like Nick?
"Do you think I made a mistake with Brian."
Nick smoothed her hair from her face. "I don't know."
God, her stomach hurt. "Great. Now what do I do?"
He pressed a kiss on her cheek, his eyes solemn. "I seem to fall for women who I can't have." Nick slipped out of bed and found his jeans. "If you want Brian, talk to him and tell him what you want."

Chapter Seven

Brian sat behind his large oak desk and picked up the nameplate. "It says Tax Attorney, not Miracle Worker," he muttered.
After storming out of Maggie's place this evening, he'd received an urgent call from one of his clients. He'd been hard at work for the past four hours. Thank God he'd had his gym bag in his car with a T-shirt. All he needed today was the parking garage attendants gossiping about him.
He made a note to send flowers to Mrs. Franks. His long-time secretary always made sure he had at least two suits hanging in his office closet. The thought of the pink roses the older woman preferred reminded him of the flush on Maggie's skin when she screamed her pleasure.
Pissed off resentment and unreleased lust swam through his veins. For the last three hours, he'd dealt with a pompous ass client that didn't understand why he had to pay taxes on his dividends.
He should be kicking Nick's ass and taking Maggie—not dealing with this bullshit. He wanted it this way, Brian reminded himself. He was such a pussy.
Closing his eyes, Brian leaned back in the chair. Maggie's intoxicating taste still lingered in his mouth. His dick stirred at the memory of her tiny body tightening with every swipe of his tongue until she finally snapped. Her warm honey flooding his lips filled his senses and awakened sensations he'd long forgotten.
He couldn’t remember the last time a woman melted in his arms. "Fuck." Brian sat forward and dialed the only person who knew all his secrets.

An hour later he knocked on Julie's door. For over three years, Julie had been the only person he truly trusted. She didn't judge him when he begged her to cause him excruciating pain so he could feel again. She'd soothed him when he fell apart and trusted him fully when he needed to dominate her.
In every way that mattered, they were more intimate than most married couples. In a way he felt like he was cheating on her with Maggie.
He swiped his sweaty palms on his slacks and smiled when she opened the door. "Hey there, sexy."
Julie rolled her beautiful hazel eyes. "Come in and make yourself at home."
Brian took in her appearance and frowned. "Did I catch you at a bad time?"
She glanced down at her loose T-shirt and black leggings. "No, why?"
He thought of Julie as the stern Dominatrix or smart businesswoman. Not the slouchy make-up free woman he looked at now. "You're not wearing a bra."
    Her eyebrows shot up. "And?"
Heat flooded his face. He hadn't meant to say that aloud. "I don't know how to talk to you when you're dressed like that."
She laughed, hard. "Are you kidding me?" Julie snorted and hiccupped. "This is one of your problems.
"Right now I'm your friend, not Mistress Julie or your tax client. You need to stop looking at people's window dressing and start looking inside them." She spun, strolled into the apartment, and motioned to a chair. "Sit. I'll get you a ginger ale."
Brian scowled at her back. Did he do that? Did he only look skin deep? He followed her into the apartment and gazed around the large space. The rich color of the living and dining room furniture offset the earthy paint on the walls. Homey sensuality, he thought. "You have a nice place."
    Julie plopped into the
