and can’t get my thoughts together. I firmly wrap my legs around his waist.
“Giselle, you’re right, it’s time we take our relationship to the next level.”
He slips his right hand through the bottom of my shorts and glides his finger into my extremely moist lady part. I moan and come at the same time. He slowly removes his finger and brings it to his perfect mouth and licks off my juices.
I can’t believe this is happening. I’m speechless and my body’s on fire. I have to stop this. I can’t sleep with Liam before making my confession. Liam starts nibbling on my neck and begins saying things I never thought I would hear him say. I have to stop this now.
    “We can’t do this.”
“I have a condom and we can clean the counter afterwards.”
“No, Liam we can’t. I have something I need to tell you.”
Instantly the lust leaves the room and tension arrives. Liam stops touching me and I slide off the counter. My palms are sweaty. I feel sick.
    “Who is he?”
    “What?”
“I’m not stupid, the signs are there.”
I start crying. “I’m so sorry. It didn’t mean anything.”
    He yells, “Who is he?”
“My ex. He called me out of the blue and.” I can’t continue.
    “And you fucked him!”
I turn my back to him and whisper “Yes.”
“Look at me,” he orders. I do. “I thought you were different and special that’s why I never rushed things between us. But you’re just like every other woman, just looking to get fucked.”
“Don’t say that, I care about you, us.”
He lets out a harsh laugh. “Says the girl who’s fucking someone else.”
    “I’m so sorry.”
“Save it for someone who gives a fuck.” He slams the door.

    Chapter Eleven

The girls try to make me feel better but no matter what’s said I feel awful. Carmen finds out when Liam goes to their house and yells, “Why didn’t you tell me your friend’s a whore?” This is beyond embarrassing. Marcia orders Chinese and a large pepperoni pizza while Carmen makes drinks. They decide we’re going to have a sleepover.
“You two aren’t obligated to stay here, you have husbands who need you.”
“Girl shut up,” Marcia says. “Our husbands know we’re always going to be there for each other.”
I look at Carmen. She’s been very quiet.
“Cooper knows I’m staying here with you, because I was about to fuck up Liam’s ass.” She pauses. “You could’ve told me. I wouldn’t have said anything to Cooper.”
“I know, but I didn’t want to put you in the middle.”
We sip our drinks and eat on the couch. Marcia holds something behind her back.
“I know what will make you feel better.”
She reveals my favorite movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory . She passes out chocolates and Carmen hands me chocolate Now and Laters. When the oompa loompa’s start singing, Marcia gets excited and asks me to perform. This makes me laugh.
By the end of the evening, I’m laughing and drunk. Liam and I will eventually have to talk because of our business, but right now I’m enjoying time with my girls .

    Chapter Twelve

I haven’t seen or spoken to Liam in a week. The only communication we have had was when he sent a text stating that he was going back out of town to help Mike. When I try to call him, he sends me to voicemail.
Today’s the start of the renovations and I’m excited. Meagan’s at Indulgence when I arrive.
“Morning, Giselle. The crew arrived early and they’re working as we speak.”
“That’s good to hear. I can’t wait to see the finished product.”
“Liam called and said that he’ll be in shortly, but you already know that.”
“Yes,” I say with a forced smile.
We really need to talk, we have a business to run. I shouldn’t be hearing from employees that he’s back in town and what time he’s coming in. In our shared office, I look at a photo of
