to fight somebody.”
“Then what’s wrong?”
“I’m pregnant.” I fell back on the bed, because that was not what I was expecting at all. I couldn’t bring a kid in this world, and she was a big time lawyer. I knew I should’ve worn a condom the first day, but it felt too good. I must’ve been in deep thought for a minute, because I heard her car backing out my driveway.
“Fuck!” I yelled out putting some clothes on. I parked behind her car at the house and knocked on the door. Spring opened it looking like she was going through some shit. Her eyes were puffy, and she looked like shit.
“She’s upstairs. Oh, and Congratulations.” She said, dryly. I knew it was because of my boy, but she brought that on herself.
“Go home, Monty. I can see you’re not happy or ready. I can take care of it by myself.”
“Be quiet. You’re always talking shit. I was shocked; that’s all. If you want to keep the baby, you know I’m going to be here to help you.” She stood there with her arms folded like she was waiting for me to change my answer. “Fine. I guess we can speak when it comes to the baby.”
“What the fuck B? You came to my house to fuck, then to ask me not to stop speaking to you, then tell me you're pregnant, only to tell me if it isn’t about the baby don’t call. You’re confusing the hell out of me.” I unfolded her arms, and she rested her body in my arms.
“I love you, Monty.” I grinned over top of her head.
“That’s all you had to say.” I kissed her. “I love you, too, Ma.”
Spring
A couple of months went by since Chase broke it off with me and started dealing with some chick he used to date named Tamika. Don’t get me wrong, I did cheat on him, but damn, he was already slinging dick in a new chick. Should I think he was messing around the entire time we were together? It didn’t matter anymore, because I just dove head first into work. Giselle ended up speaking to me again, and needless to say, we ended up sleeping together a few more times, but not before B made me draft up a contract about the sex being consensual, and in no way shape or form could she sue for sexual harassment. It was dated back to the first time we had sex before I told Chase. Giselle was ok with it; as long as she could continue to fuck me, she would sign her life away. I know I shouldn’t have, but Chase left me, and I wasn’t sleeping with anyone else.
B was going on four-and-a-half months, and she was ecstatic about becoming a mom, while Monty’s dumb ass was nervous as hell. I’ve only saw him a few times since the shit with Chase and I, because I spent a lot of late nights at work again. I only slowed down because I had a man, but I needed the distraction.
I was really missing Chase. I tried contacting him the first few days after he left me, then once a week, then I just stopped calling altogether, because he wasn’t answering or returning my calls. I saw him a few times at the mall with the girl, and he would give me some stupid ass smile. I just turned my head and kept it moving.
“Hey, boo.”
“Hey, prego.” I rubbed B’s stomach when she sat down on the couch in my office.
“So there’s this BBQ that my stripper friend, Amber, told me about that she wanted us to attend.”
“Us? I don’t even know Amber like that. And what are you going for? You know damn well your baby daddy would have a fit.”
“Forget, Monty. He’s my baby daddy, and that’s about it.”
“Yea, ok.”
“I’m serious, Spring. I’m not going to lie; I love him, and he said he has the same feelings for me, however, I’m not sure I want to settle down.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t think I can trust him. Yea, we spend a lot of time together,
