once more and gripped the sheets as he had. Then, he felt her body shudder into orgasm.
Simon sighed and collapsed on top of her. He kissed her shoulder and made a trail of little kisses across her collarbone and up her chin to her mouth.
Her fingers ran through his hair and she kissed his forehead. “I never thought it could be like this,” she said. She coughed and turned her face into the sheets. He suspected she was hiding another blush. “I never knew that kind of intensity. That kind of raw desire.”
He rubbed his nose over hers. “That is my solemn duty as your husband.” He caressed her jaw lightly. “It is my duty to never let you forget how much I desire you. How much I need you.”
Rowena wrapped her arms around his neck. “And I shall do the same.” She squeezed him tightly. “I will never again let anything or anyone come between us. I love you.”
He kissed her with all of the fervor inside of him. “Let's stay a few days with Alice and announce our engagement. With Lord Chilton’s help, we will get a special license and marry straight away. I don’t want to wait anymore.”
“Agreed.” She paused. “However, I do think that the waiting made our reunion much sweeter. I think I needed to grow up. I needed to realize that it was always my opinion of you that mattered the most. And that if I loved you, and you loved me, there was never anything else to fear.”
“That may be,” he said. “I only wish you had come to those conclusions much sooner.” Simon could not be happier now that Rowena was in his arms and practically his wife. He thanked God and Alice for bringing them back together after so many years.
“Besides,” he teased, “Think of all the love making we missed in the last eight years. I think we shall have to make up for that. How is three times a day for the next ten years?”
Rowena laughed heartily. “I think we could come to an appropriate arrangement.”
Simon’s heart warmed and with another sweet kiss, he shifted their bodies to a comfortable position and held her close as they drifted off to sleep.
