Eat while it’s hot. Hope you like what I ordered.”
“Ace, I love everything you’ve done tonight.” I started to salivate; the food smelled heavenly.
“Good, you need to eat. Got to keep up your strength for the next round.” Smiling roguishly, he removed the metal toppers from each of the seven plates on the tray and set them aside, releasing the aromas into the air.

    Chapter 8

He turned and went to get the champagne chilling on the wet bar. Grabbing two champagne flutes he set them both down and opened the bottle with the familiar pop and bubble then poured two glasses of the rose colored champagne.
“Here’s to you.” He handed me my glass.
I clinked glasses with him and took a tentative sip. I wanted to down the whole glass—I was dehydrated—but the taste was so exquisite I forced myself to sip it. Placing my glass down, I turned my attention to the tray of food in front of me.
Each plate looked more delicious than the last. The first plate had filet mignon sliders with fresh horseradish sauce and Gruyere cheese. The next was a plate of buttered lobster tail cubes with tarragon and sage tossed with delicate angel hair pasta. The third held fresh sashimi sushi tuna rolls with pungent ginger and wasabi sauce covered in toasted sesame seeds. Short ribs, tenderly shredded with garlic and sesame oil over Asian vegetables. A delicious gourmet pizza with sautéed spinach and fresh Gorgonzola cheese, decorated with figs.
A large platter filled with various hors d'oeuvres including small quiches, tempura shrimp and vegetables. To my delight he’d also provided a large platter beautifully arranged with garden-fresh strawberries, sliced kiwi, and bananas aside a decadent dark chocolate fondue and a bowl of fresh whipped cream. I grabbed a plate and got down to business.
“I hope you like it. The chef here is one of the best in the city. These dishes are what I typically have when I’m here.” He smiled sitting back and watching me throw myself into eating. I wanted everything.
“Ace, you know me too well for someone who has never met me before tonight.” I took a little of everything, eyeing the fruit plate, making sure I left enough room.
“ Grace, you are me in female form. I know you as well as I know myself.” Smiling at his confirmation of our similar personalities, I dug in.
“ Mmm. Wow…this is amazing. Tastes like heaven .” I shoved another cube of lobster into my mouth.
Finally stuffed, I put my plate and fork down and my napkin on top of it. I leaned back into the soft pillows sighing contentedly and looked at Cole, who had just finished too.
“That was totally amazing. Everything was wonderful.”
“Scott, the chef here, worked in a Philadelphia restaurant until I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.” Cole wore a smug smile.
“Do you always get people to do what you want?” I asked.
    “Typically.”
“Mmm. You may be thinking differently before long.”
“You offering up a challenge , Miss Preston?”
    “I hope so.”
“I usually get what I want.” The gauntlet was thrown.
With that h e reached over and pulled me close to him. I wrapped my arm around his middle and leaned my head into his chest, breathing him in. He smelled so yummy it was intoxicating. The same smell had caught my attention in the first place. The scent of sex also hung in the air. I was out of my comfort zone. Most of my relationships left me feeling used. Men used me for my money. I used them for sex. That sounds crude, but since Craig... push the thought down.
He languidly stood and reached his hand out to me. I grabbed ahold and he led me down the long hallway into the room he had entered to get the robes. As I walked through the door, I stood stunned at the sight of the massive bed dwarfed by the size of the room. The entire outside wall was ceiling to floor windows with sheer cream-colored silk curtains spread open wide to the lights of the City below.
