gave a cry as his own orgasm broke over him. He called her name over and over, his cock throbbing inside her. His hot mouth opened against her throat and he held her as close as he could.
Mia clutched his upper arms as the final tremors shook her. She stayed on his chest, too spent and exhausted to raise her head. His hands stroked her back gently and his lips grazed her throat and ear.
    “Mia? You OK?”
“Umm-hmmm.” Her response was muffled against his chest and he laughed. “You?”
    “Oh, yeah.”
Together, they caught their breath and Nick’s thundering heartbeat returned to normal. He lifted her off his hips and he grinned when she made a soft sound of protest as he pulled out of her body. He rested her on the bed and pulled the sheets up over her naked curves.
Nick kissed her. “Be right back.”
She watched him go in to her small bathroom and sighed with happiness and total satisfaction. He is just so fucking sexy. My God .
He came back to the bed and laid down next to her. “Come here.”
She rested her head on his chest and ran her fingers over and over his muscles, amazed at the grooves and edges.
    “You are so beautiful, babe.”
She smiled at him, that shining, open smile that he had first noticed in the bar. “You think so?”
“Oh, yeah.” He traced the curve of his lips and she kissed his fingers. “The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Even with all those gorgeous women that come to The Cave?” she said.
“They don’t hold a candle to you, Mia, I promise you.”
At that exact moment, she believed him.
Nick stroked her face gently. “You OK? Like, really? No pain?”
    “None. I swear.”
He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. “OK, then. We can do it again, right?”
She stared in to his eyes, saw the heat there. “You are damn right we can.”
And they did – twice more, before collapsing in to an exhausted, sated sleep.

Chapter Six

Mia’s first thought when she woke up the next morning was that her bed sheets seemed very hot and solid. Like a large, warm body, almost.
Her eyes cracked open a bit and she found herself staring at a huge, muscled chest. She blinked and then remembered. A wave of heat and lust washed over her and she almost moaned aloud.
    “Good morning.”
She lifted her head and stared up at Nick. His eyes were warm and sweet and he looked all tousled and roll-out-of-bed sexy. Which is exactly what he was.
    “Good morning,” she said.
    “How did you sleep?”
    “Like a rock. You?”
“The same. You tired me out, Mia.”
“Don’t complain.” She grinned. “I think you enjoyed it.”
He laughed and she watched as his face lightened. “Guilty as charged.”
    “Yeah, I thought so.”
He kissed her. “You look like a sunflower, with your hair and eyes all bright. Gorgeous.”
    “That’s my favorite flower, actually.”
    “It is?”
    “Yeah.”
“Well, it suits you.” His eyes went to her bandage. “Hey, we need to change that. It’s coming loose.”
“OK,” Mia said and started to sit up.
“Stay where you are. I’ll get the stuff. Where is it?”
    “In the bathroom cabinet.”
He got up and her eyes traveled hungrily over his taut, large body, loving every inch of him. He returned to the bedroom carrying the bandages and a tube of antibiotic cream. “Come here, babe.”
Gingerly he peeled off the old bandage and examined the bruising and swelling. He winced. No matter what she said, there was no way that her head wasn’t sore. With a piece of cotton, he dabbed the cream on her stitches and she closed her eyes.
    “Mia?”
    “It’s OK.”
    “I’ll be gentle.”
After he applied the new bandage he kissed her lips. “All done. You’re a very brave patient.”
“Thanks,” she said. “And you’re a very good doctor.”
    “I try.”
The looked at each other and Mia suddenly realized that they were now well in to the morning after. Was Nick going to bolt and throw a quick,
