brown one. It must be their little group of friends. Samantha is up there somewhere too, and just another reason for me to avoid all contact. The line for the scrambler has started to move so they must be loading the ride. I hand over two tickets for Allie and me, then head for an empty compartment. While we are waiting for the ride to start, I try to focus on just Allie and our compartment, no looking around. All I need is to get sick in front of the two guys I like and the one girl who really hates me. If I can hold it together for this one ride, I will drag Allie to another area of the festival where they won’t see us.
“It’s starting,” Allie says with a giant grin on her face. “I love rides so much." This is totally not what I am thinking. As the ride starts to move faster and faster, I feel my stomach starting to churn a bit. I grab the lap bar so hard that my fingers are turning white. My forehead is starting to sweat and I feel a little clammy. How long does this ride last, it feels like eternity. The ride is starting to slow down but my mouth has that feeling like the vomit is about to appear and say hi. I have to get off this ride. The guy is releasing the bar of the compartment beside us.
“Excuse me, I am going to be sick, can you let me off!”  I yell to get his attention. He runs over and unlocks the bar. I jump out of my seat and run for the nearest exit, knowing that everyone is watching me. When I exit the restroom, Allie is leaning against the wall waiting on me. And beside her are Blake, Connor, and Samantha.
“You okay, Klutzy? We saw you take off like a rocket from the scrambler." Connor laughs but continues to look at me concerned.
“That must have been humiliating for you, Abby. I mean to get sick on the scrambler, who does that?” Samantha says with a roll of her eyes and a chuckle. Connor gives her a bewildered look.
“I guess I do. Rides and my stomach do not like each other. They haven’t gotten along for years,” I say with a shrug. I look towards Blake because I know he must be confused by how I have acted this week. He looks at me and smiles, which makes me feel even worse.
A cute redhead walks up to us and links her arm through Blake’s, “Hey, you ready to head to Charlie’s, Blake?" He glances in my direction then whispers something in her ear. She squeezes his arm and then walks over towards the rest of their group.
“Abby, can I talk to you for a second,” Blake asks with a nervous look. I nod, then look towards Allie.
“Connor, will you stay with Allie for a minute, please?" He glances between me and Blake with a questioning look then shrugs and starts teasing Allie. Blake and I walk to the nearest bench and sit down.
“So, do I need to explain why I am out with Sarah?” Blake asks cutting right to the heart of the matter.
“No, I have been avoiding you all week because I didn’t know what to say. I was sure you were mad at me.”
“No, I’m not mad. I just wish you would have told me the truth. You like someone else.” He says so simply.
    “Why would you say that?”
“Abby, I was at the pool. I saw you with Connor.”
“First off, let me just say that I really think you are great. You are so nice and funny, and gorgeous. All I can say is I’m really sorry, and I feel like slime for how I have been treating you."
“It’s okay Abby. I actually enjoyed hanging out with you, so maybe we can still do that as friends sometime,” Blake said with a smile.
“How can you be nice to me? I am the slime of the earth. You have my permission and my approval to yell at me and call me a bunch of insulting names." Blake laughs and shakes his head.
“So, when are you going to tell him?" He asks with a nod towards where Connor is laughing at something my sister said.
“I’m not. He doesn’t think of me like that. It would just make things awkward when I am over at Leah’s house. I love being around the Sparks, I won’t ruin that,” I say with a
