of attraction, still as aroused by her girlfriend as the first time they fooled around. “You sure you don’t want to just stay in and screw?”
“Tempting,” Lydia responded, checking her out in turn. “But you’re the only woman I’ve really done anything beyond fingering with. I want my Bailey experience.”
“Shh! She ’s downstairs, she’ll hear you!”
Lydia grabbed her and tickled her lightly. “ Oh no! What if she thinks we’re lesbians?”
“Stop!” Emma laughed. “We don’t have all night!”
    “True.”

Heart pounding, Emma climbed out of the taxi and looked around the rowdy campus street while Lydia paid.
The club district was every bit the insanity she remembered from her younger days; mobs of drunk young guys and girls stumbled, shouted, and swirled all over. Several bars seemed chock full; two of the clubs had enormous lines. The chill winter air immediately discounted the long lines as options.
“It’s so cold,” Emma complained, shivering in her jacket.
“ Should be really hot in the bar, with all these crowds…” Lydia suggested, keeping her hands in her pockets. “How about that one? Only one I recognize.”
They headed inside the bar, pushing through the stifling crowd. Emma winced at the roaring noise; she said something to Lydia, but she couldn’t hear her. Frustrated, but willing to put up with it for her girlfriend’s sake, Emma followed her to the bar, where they spent twenty minutes waiting to get drinks. Meanwhile, she watched the unofficial dance floor, where hordes of frat-and-sorority types ground against one another.
“Alright,” Lydia said, handing her a whiskey sour. “ Let’s people watch.”
Emma followed her back near the wall, where they managed to grab a small high table at which to stand, scooting in just as a group of young guys abandoned it.
“So what’s the plan?” Emma asked, scanning the crowd.
    “What?”
“What’s the plan?” she said, as loud as she could.
“Pick out a girl we both like,” Lydia replied in her ear. “Talk to her. Beyond that, I don’t know. I’m no expert on picking up girls.”
Frowning at the daunting task, Emma watched the milling girls. She really didn’ t want to spend a night every week trying to pick up a girl for the foreseeable future; she patted the locket in her jeans pocket, intent on getting this harrowing quest done in a single night.
“And you look really good tonight,” Lydia said out of the blue.
Emma couldn’t help but smile and feel a little better. “How about her?”
Lydia followed her gaze to the tall, thin, stunningly hot young blonde surrounded by a circle of frat guys. “Pick the hottest girl in the bar, why don’tcha?” she protested. “And her boobs, they’re perfect… damn… I haven’t felt out of anyone’s league, ever, until tonight…”
“You’re gorgeous,” Emma shot back. “Don’t complain. This is your fantasy!”
“But how do we approach her?” Lydia asked, furrowing her brow as she strategized. “She’s got all those guys drooling on her… and what if she’s straight?”
Emma shrugged. “ Never know. Maybe she’ll jump us because she’s dying to try a woman.”
Lydia imagined that idea, grinning. “Maybe…”
“Let me talk to her,” Emma said. “I’ll be right back.”
Her girlfriend watched her, surprised, as she slid through the crowd and approached the gorgeous girl.
Full of nervous energy, but confident in the power of the locket, Emma slid up next to the girl, suddenly aware of all the guys turning to look at her.
    “Yes?” the girl asked.
“I’m with the bar,” Emma said, lying effortlessly. “You just won a round of free drinks! Come up to the bar and we’ll get it sorted out.”
Smiling happily, the girl took drink orders from her group, and then followed Emma through the crowd.
Emma positioned the two of them by the bar, just out of sight of Lydia, who she knew would be watching. She didn’t want the
