Chapter Twenty-Five
Eric got a phone call , col lected Emma, and took her to the hospital. She was devastated to hear about her grandma, and he drove her to the hospital and waited as she talked to Angus first. Then he held her hand as she talked to her grandma. He could see how worried she was, but looking at Jane, he thought she was very happy for someone who had just survived a car crash. He looked at Angus and saw he, too, looked happy.
Strange, he thought.
He looked at Angus and raised his brows. Angus took him on one side and explained.
“I don’t know if you remember that sub, Julia. She was always coming into the club and pestering me to take her on as my sub. “Oh, yes. We have sorted it out now. I am just glad she was not badly hurt. She has a spanking in her future, when she has recovered. She is looking forward to it, so she says.” His face was wreathed in smiles as he looked at Jane.
Emma would have stayed all the rest of the day, but Jane needed to rest and Eric insisted she leave her grandmother, promising to bring her back for the next visiting hour.
It was a few days before Jane was sent home, and he and Emma were waiting for her with a hot meal. His Emma had cooked quite a few meals and left them in the freezer. She told him her grandma was not big on bought-in food, so he helped her with the preparations. He and Emma either called or visited every day to help with meals and such. Angus had a very pleasant cleaning lady who did more than her fair share, and Eric took her on one side to see if she’d be willing to help out when he and Emma settled down. Mrs Jones was delighted to have another reliable couple to work for. She was fond of Angus and now of Jane. She gave Eric her telephone number, and he promised to get in touch. He was happy to accept but did wonder how it was all going to work out. He knew that Angus was planning fun and games, as he would not be able to so indulge himself at his wedding. Emma plus her grandmother plus BDSM games did not seem to be a good idea. Angus had been very pragmatic.
“They will have to get used to it, living so close and being members of the same club. I really think that’s not what bothers Jane most. That son of hers is very shrewd, and she is worried he will find out, and then the fur will fly!”
