trade you any day.” It was low enough for them not to hear. “The bathroom is this way.” That got their attention and they followed. Then they went into the restroom. “Forgot my dress,” I said remembering how I’d left it by the bed. They were awing while I had gone back into the room to get the dress when I saw Robert coming out of his bathroom. Grabbing my box, I ignored him.
“Getting ready?” He asked as I was walking towards the bathroom.
I turned back around and stared at him for a second. He was already wearing his tuxedo, he looked even better. It wasn’t fair.
“Yeah, with some friends so we don’t have to be alone, you know?” I said as I was about to turn but then stopped, “Oh and by the way the school is not locked just in case you didn’t know.” I turned on my heel and joined the girls in my closet where I found them snooping around and looking through my clothes. “Here’s my dress.” I took it out and showed them.
“It’s amazing, Mia that’s like the kind of dress only royalty wear.”
    Royalty?
“What? You mean, not everybody wears dresses like this?” I was shocked to hear that. Although I had wondered why mine was different.
“No way. It’s just royalty like Gene.” Sophie said and by the look on her face she didn’t seem too happy about it.
“What do you mean by royalty ?” I didn’t know what they were talking about, but I had an idea at the mention of Genevieve‘s name.
“Only if you are related to a King and Queen or someone in the higher ups,” Sophie continued.
“That’s real bull .” Mereily’s tone was of disappointment.
“What is?” I asked her, hoping she wasn’t upset with me.
“Robert is my second cousin, and I am not considered royalty .” My jaw dropped and opened while I looked at her. I really looked and couldn’t believe that Robert was her cousin, he was nothing like her.
“Well, I’m definitely not related to any of them. So why did they give me that dress?” I pointed at it where it was hanging in the closet.
“Maybe you are, you just haven’t had the chance to meet anyone yet.” Mereily said this time with a lighter tone.
“Mereily, I’m sorry. I won’t wear it if it makes you uncomfortable. I don’t want to be part of any royalty. It’s all crap if they’re being unfair.” Honestly I couldn’t believe how the system worked so I was shocked to hear at what Mereily had said.
“No. You’re wearing the dress and you’re going to be the bomb. It’s not your fault, they’re unfair but that’s not your problem okay?” She smiled not very convincingly.
“If you say so but cheer up, or I’ll make a fool out of myself in front of everyone.” I wasn’t sure of how I would do such a thing.
    The girls giggled.
We got dressed and ready. My gown looked incredible.
Sophie decided to pull her hair sideways putting a diamond clip to hold it. Her hair was already curly but she made her dark curls bigger and it looked so gorgeous. Mereily, pulled back her bangs, she teased it to give it a fresh look and added sparkling beads throughout her hair like a spider web and left hers straight. It still looked like it took hours to get it to look like she did.
I, on the other hand pinned it up from both sides and didn’t necessarily curl it all the way but only enough to make waves and I used pearl diamond clips.
All three of us looked fabulous! Like Mereily would say. I decided to go natural with my makeup, using the usual plus adding extra eyeliner and a neutral light eye shadow and mascara. I didn’t want to stand out and I encouraged Mereily and Sophie to be more dramatic with theirs. When I looked at the time it was already five-thirty-eight. We decided to grab some snacks and drinks from the kitchen and sit and watch some TV.
While Sophie was using the restroom, I decided to tell Mereily something I wasn’t sure of telling Sophie, just because I didn’t know her that well.
“I promised to not say anything but
