Mae’s wrist, but she pulled back. At last, Mae raised her gaze to meet Lena’s.
“You’re falling for him,” she said evenly with an air of disappointment. “I knew you would.”
“No, I’m not!” Lena was suddenly furious. “How dare you say that?”
“Sure you are.” Mae’s tone was so cold that Lena was scared. She could hear her friend retreat from her, and she suddenly realized how much she didn’t want to lose her. “Why would you want to spend more time with him? I can understand the sex. I can see why you’d want longer for that, but after?” She picked up her tray with the barely touched meal and tipped it in the trash next to the table. “You’ve got feelings for him.” She stared at Lena with a new furious look. “Feelings that belong to me.”
Lena watched as Mae stormed out of the dining room. It suddenly became clear. Mae was jealous. Of course she was. Wouldn’t Lena be if it had been the other way around?
Lena moved to go after Mae, but hesitated. Mae was right after all. Panic rose in Lena’s chest—what if Mae told the Archmatria? Mae had been in cahoots with them from the start. Would Mae’s jealousy be so great that she’d have Lena banished? It was making her head hurt with worry. Lena had eighteen hours left before she saw Angelo again. The panic turned to an ache in her chest. She had the whole night to get through with Mae’s wrath just a breath away.

While the two lower bunkers slept softly, Lena lay with her jaw clenched shut. Mae hadn’t come back from wherever she’d stormed off to and Lena could only lie with her torturous imagination, waiting for a group of Archmatria to pull her from her bed and throw her out of the manor. She’d just fallen asleep when an icy hand clamped to her mouth woke her abruptly.
“Shh.” A sharp whisper sliced into her ear. “Don’t make a fucking sound.”
Lena tensed and held her breath in anticipation of being dragged out to the floor. She wondered whether she’d be allowed to keep the kimono. The kimono which drew moisture from her pussy and mouth when she inhaled Angelo’s scent mixed with hers. The thought almost made her forget what was happening when a sharp tug at her hair brought her back to her senses.
“I said, Did you hear me? ”
Lena nodded as the hissing voice pierced through her thoughts.
Lena opened her eyes and tried to make out the shadowy figures that she knew would be gathering silently below her bed. She twisted her head and scanned the room quickly, but saw nobody. Just the hooded figure straddled above her. She breathed a deep sigh of relief.
“Mae…” She smiled and was met with a stinging slap to her cheek. She gasped and found she couldn’t move her hands up to press them against her burning flesh. Mae must have tied her while she was sleeping. Her body couldn’t help itself and a rush of excitement squeezed into her crotch. She arched her back to emphasize her stout nipples straining against her nightshirt.
“Just because I haven’t told them yet, doesn’t mean I’m not going to,” Mae whispered cruelly, again winding Lena’s hair tightly around her fingers and pulling hard.
The pain was sharp and sudden, and Lena was furious. Heat spread from her still stinging cheek right through her body and she bucked her hips, trying to throw Mae off. Mae leaned in once more and pulled the hood from her face. Her eyes were shining like a demon’s and her face was lit as if from within. For a second, she stared into Lena’s eyes with a wild look then kissed her slapped cheek and softened her grip on her hair.
Mae rubbed her cheek back and forth against Lena’s, like a cat vying for affection. Her skin was soft and gentle compared to the spiky jagged lines of Angelo’s jaw. Lena held her breath once more and awaited the angry seduction. She was hot too now and ready for the moment of surrender. She knew it was going to be hard, fast, and furious this time and she shuffled her
