couldn’t shake the feeling that if she
didn’t accept his offer, he would never make another. And that
scared her more than rumors.
Before she was sure or even ready, he
pressed his mouth to hers and parted his lips to lick hers. She
tried to ignore all her insecurities of everyone watching, which
was easier with her eyes tightly shut. She reluctantly met his
tongue, letting him leisurely lick in slow, small circles around
her tip. She hated herself for moaning, and after that she was
aware of the whispers around her. They distracted her so much that
she refused to continue, dropped her forehead to his shoulder, and
hoped he wouldn’t pursue her again.
Grayson kissed the top of her head, and put
his arms around her. “Was that so bad?”
“Can we not talk about this here? Let’s go
up to your dorm. Your roommate is gone, right? Or you can ask him
to give us a second?”

“He won’t be bothering us all night. I
already told him I want the room all to myself because you’re
coming over. We’re not sneaking off for sex anymore. We’ve done
that for seven months now, and I’m sick of hiding.”
“But you didn’t tell him why though, right?”
she asked stupidly. Surely his roommate pieced together why Grayson
didn’t want him around with a girl in his room.
“Hell yeah I did. Said it right in front of
that fucker, too, because if I had to watch him put his hands all
over you one more time I was going to kick his ass and he wouldn’t
even know why I was so pissed.”
Paige didn’t know if she should be mortified
he told people, flattered he was jealous, or upset with herself for
making him so crazed to see her with other men, but he never hinted
of envy until the last few days. And because she didn’t know
exactly how she felt at that moment, she kept her mouth shut. She
wanted Grayson, and that was the only thing she was willing to
focus on—even if she’d be known as the biggest slut on campus.
There was no doubt people would stop by to
press their ear to the door, and once they started fooling around,
surely word would spread that two stepsiblings were getting it on
and in no time the entire dorm would be stopping by for a listen.
If it was anyone else, other than Grayson and her, she’d find that
hot, but at the moment she simply felt exposed.
“Come on,” he murmured with suggestion in
his voice, and led her by the hand he clung onto.
Thankfully there was no gathering of
perverted, teen pimps waiting around to prostitute out her moans to
anyone who wanted a free show. They entered his room unseen, and
once he locked them in, she relaxed slightly. Maybe she was
overacting and all her paranoia was for nothing. Maybe Grayson was
right and they had nothing to worry about. They could simply remind
people they weren’t related, explain they liked each other long
before their parents started seeing each other, and no one would
think it was taboo. The moment she decided no one would care, she
smiled, and even laughed quietly while inwardly calling herself a
drama queen.
She sat on his bed, and watched him dig
around in his backpack. She laughed when he removed a small bag. “A
camera, Gray?”
“I want my picture.” He rummaged another
pocket, and then took out a red sucker. After he unwrapped the
candy and popped it into his mouth he proceeded to remove the lens
cover and drape the strap around his neck while taking glimpses of
her. “Are you mad I told your boyfriend?”
“He wasn’t my boyfriend. So, no, I don’t
care.” In truth, she wasn’t thrilled he told people in general, but
she wanted him enough to lay aside her hesitations, and added, “I
want to be with you. That’s all that matters.”
His eye shot up from the camera to her, and
he smiled his sexy, confident grin as if he already knew exactly
how much she loved him. She never thought about anyone as much as
him, but they had yet to admit such intense feelings.
“No one believed me anyway.” He pushed off
the desk,
