Georgia said, “I always think that if it isn’t broken, there is no need to fix it.”
Kate agreed, “right now this works for us.”
So they decided not to change anything until they had a compelling reason. This made them laugh. What would be a compelling reason. And besides, neither of them liked change. It was bad enough that they had to change restaurants.

Two
Two of the new restaurants were added to their weekly nights of eating out, which they liked to do around eleven p.m. They slept all day, had breakfast at five p.m. and a coffee break around eight p.m. Then it was time to go out for dinner.
On Kate’s birthday, Georgia decided to treat her to a birthday dinner at the date place restaurant because she knew that Kate liked it and she felt that it was only fair to let Kate have a change in their routine as part of her birthday present.
Since some change had been forced on them, why not create a little change in their lives on their own.
Armand was in town visiting his frat brother Jacques and because Armand came from the west coast and the time zone was four hours later, they ended up going out for dinner later than usual.
They were enjoying dessert and excellent coffee when they saw the two chubby ladies enter the restaurant. Armand was about to make a snarky remark about how they must have been doing the rounds of restaurants all night and coming here for a second or third meal.
He didn’t. It was something he disliked about himself, this meanness in him. The fact is he loved big women. But he tried to cover his secret passion by saying anti-fat things about them. He had always done this.
Having just had his thirtieth birthday he was adding things to his bucket list and one of the things he recently added was trying to be more authentic and less mean.
Jacques looked at him and said, “What? No nasty cracks about those women?”
Armand gave his friend a sheepish grin. “Was I that obviously mean?”
“Yep. You sure were. You were a real prick.”
“I’m trying to be a better person.” Armand took a deep breath. He wanted to confess to his passion for big beautiful women.
He tried but was only partially successful. He said, “Once you go fat, you’ll never go back.”
Jacques looked at him searching for signs of sarcasm. Then he said, “You’re serious.”
    “I am.”
Jacques said, “I call dibs on the tall one.”
Armand stared at his friend. “Are you serious?”
    “I am.”
“Good because I like the little one.”
The two men were both in business using their MBAs that they earned the same year. They worked for different companies but Armand was in town for an interview with the company that Jacques worked for.
They had been friends since college and because they both had French names but neither spoke a word of French, a lot of their friend thought they were somehow related. They did have a passing resemblance to each other.
They were both six feet tall and had sandy-brown hair and blue eyes. While this might sound like they were very similar in appearance, their ears and noses were different. Armand had a square head and Jacques had a long face.
They were pleasant looking men even though they missed being handsome. Armand’s nose was quite big and Jacques’ ears stuck out just a little too much.
They drank their coffee and watched the women order. When they realized that the women ordered main courses, they both thought, well that’s it. They’re here for the long haul tonight.
But as things happen sometimes, they got talking about their mutual yen for large ladies. “How come we never talked about this before?” Armand asked.
“Well, it’s not as if we were party guys in the day and you’ve been out west since graduation. The few times we get together it’s always about something like a wedding and we end up partying with a bunch of the guys who are trying to escape their wives.”
They talked and kept an eye on the women, just glancing over from time to
