cupped her head to his chest.
“What do you say we go home?” he offered.
She liked that, home. She’d never thought of her parent’s house as a home. Too old and stodgy and you never were allowed to touch anything. Cage’s cabin felt like it should have a family in it. She could see a giant Christmas tree in the front window shining out onto the forest. Kids laughing and playing with new toys, indulgent parents sipping tea and enjoying the chaos.
She wondered if a life like that was possible for her?
“Yes, Cage, take me home.”
Chapter 17
Standing in the bathroom of Cage’s master bedroom, Sophie was working up her courage. Her horny bravado was fading fast now that they were back at his house. What if he didn’t like how she looked naked? She wasn’t skinny, she had way too many soft bits. Did she go out there naked? In her bra and panties? Crap, she was not good at this, she thought. Deciding to ditch her pants and keep on the v-neck sleeveless shirt she was wearing and her knickers she took a deep breath and opened the door.
Cage had lit candles and placed them around the room. They gave off a warm glow and they smelled like vanilla. Her eyes scanned the room and she saw Cage staring out the window. Or at least he had been. Now he was staring at her. He’d removed his shirt and was standing barefoot in just his jeans.
He looked scrumptious, like a triple layer chocolate torte. Okay maybe not a torte, but he did look delicious she thought.
His eyes scanned her body and this made Sophie fidget and pull at the hem of her shirt. She bit her lip and nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Sophie, come here,” he said quietly but his voice held a tone of command that she didn’t seem to want to ignore.
Her feet started moving before she had time to decide her next course of action. She was standing in front of him staring up at the most handsome man she had ever seen.
Turning her back to his chest, Cage wrapped his arms around her and said, “Look.”
Sophie looked out the window and saw the brightest fullest moon she had ever seen. Billions of twinkling stars coated the sky. She’d never seen a sky like that before. It was like a celestial show just for them.
“The fates, the universe want us to be together. They are giving their approval,” he said near her ear. “It’s a sign.”
Sophie wanted to believe that, everyone woman wanted a guarantee that the man she was trusting with her heart was the right one. Maybe she should trust the fates to this one, give herself to whatever they had in store. The chance of happiness was too much a prize to not risk it all.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.
“Not as beautiful as you, but pretty spectacular nonetheless,” he whispered back.
Pulling her hair aside, Cage placed small kisses along her neck up to her ear.
“My Sophie,” he said licking the shell of her ear.
Shivers broke over her skin and she leaned back against Cage. His firm warm chest the perfect pillow for her head.
“Come to bed, let me love you,” he said walking backwards towards the massive wood carved bed. It had to be custom made to accommodate his height, but she imagined this was what his family all had to do to sleep comfortably. Cage sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her between his spread legs.
“Arms up,” he directed.
Sophie was so lost in the glinting blue of his eyes, she immediately raised her hands over her head. Cage tugged the shirt off and dropped it to the floor. Planning ahead, Sophie had made sure to wear her matching set of black lace bra and panties with the little pink bows. It was her nicest set and she hoped Cage agreed.
“Stunning. You are a beauty, Sophie,” he said in a hushed reverent tone as his hands skimmed over her arms, the tops of her breasts. He moved slowly brushing her rounded belly and cupping her hips pulling her even closer to him. Her breasts were eye level with Cage and much to her amusement, he let his
