Pretty and sexy, just what she was going for. Tossing some clothes to wear after swimming into a bag, she hurried back out to her car, eager to get going.
By the time Lillah reached Ty’s place, her heart was beating a little faster. There was no reason to be nervous, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was out of her league here.
Ty opened the door, looking casual and very sexy in a pair of board shorts and a dark blue t-shirt that made his ocean-colored eyes pop. His long hair was tied back away from his face, showing off his strikingly handsome face. Taking her bag from her, he set it aside.
“Lillah,” he said, pulling her in for a hug that was more friendly than intimate. “It’s great to see you.”
“I was hoping you’d be into hanging out again,” he said, picking up her hand and giving it a friendly squeeze before leading her into the kitchen.
“Of course,” she said, gaping around her in wonder. She hadn’t seen the kitchen last time she was here, and it was actually bigger than her bedroom. As stunning as the rest of the house, it was all shining appliances and endless rows of cupboards.
Carson was standing at the huge island, stirring a big pitcher of what looked like brightly-colored lemonade. He was dressed only in shorts, and Lillah had to look away abruptly when she caught herself staring at his muscular chest.
“Hey, Lillah. Good timing, I’ve just finished mixing. Thirsty?” He didn’t wait for an answer before handing her a big glass.
“Hi, Carson.” She took a sip. “What is this? It’s really good.”
“Sangria,” Carson said. “With lychee and sake. I discovered it down in Texas last year.”
“Carson’s a closet bartender,” Ty said, picking up the tray of full glasses and the pitcher. “He’s always trying out new drinks. Let’s go outside.”
All three of them filed out through the kitchen door to the huge pool area. Stretching out on a lounge chair, Lillah swallowed more of the icy drink.
Carson hadn’t held back on the alcohol. The warm of it spread right through her body, coursing through her veins and heating her up more than cooling her off. She smiled at the guys, who grinned back at her. It was going to be a very good day.
It didn’t take long before Lillah was feeling completely at ease, laughing and having a great time as if they were all old friends. Soon enough, Ty was pouring the remains of the sangria into her glass. The drinks had been flowing more like water than alcohol.
Carson stood up, stretching in the sun. “I’ll get us a refill.”
“I’ll give you a hand,” Lillah said, but he shook his head.
“Nah. Stay out here, where it’s nice.”
“There’s nothing to help with,” Ty told her as Carson walked away. “He’s got tons more, already made.”
Ty got up from his chair and came over to sit on hers. Lillah moved her legs to make space for him, but still he pressed against them.
Reaching out, he stroked her smooth skin.
“I’ve been thinking about you since last weekend,” he said, eyes shining brightly. Tilting her head up, he leaned in close.
His scent was electrifying. All ginger and pepper and something citrusy that she couldn’t make out before his lips were brushing against hers, his strong body pressed up close.
Lillah shivered with desire as he ran his hands through her hair, fingertips sending sparks flowing through her body. Right away, the kiss turned feverish, tongues probing, lips burning from the intensity of the moment.
Lillah barely noticed when Carson came back out, setting a full jug on the table beside the two of them, but he didn’t take a seat or join in.
“I’m about ready for a swim. Anyone coming with me?” Carson said.
Ty broke their kiss. “What do you say?” he murmured, already standing up.
“Um, sure. Sounds good,” Lillah said, trying not to sound as flustered as she was, both from the kiss and its unexpectedly abrupt end.
