shreds.
    “Yes,” he admitted.
“Hunter, I think there are more important matters to discuss besides who I met before you.” I knew she was trying to break up the tension, but she didn’t understand that these weren’t just my employees, they were a part of my pack and needed to respect and obey me without question.
“Catherine, please. I want to know what the three of you are hiding and I’m giving you a minute to tell me the truth.”
Hunter, don’t get angry, but I was almost fired for staring at Rex.
You wanted him? My heart was racing, and my wolf was almost making itself known. I turned to him and snarled. He shook slightly and his wife wrapped her arm around his, not to stop him, but to keep him from running.
Cat grabbed my hand so I turned to my mate, my eyes glowing with the white hot burn of jealous rage . No, not at all. I saw his eyes, and they reminded me of you, so I was lost in the memory while I was still looking in his direction, and she got mad and reported it to my boss. I promise I wasn’t interested one bit. I just noticed the bright blues. It wasn’t the first time that something would trigger a memory of you and I would be lost in my fantasy of you and I. I was embarrassed several times and that’s why I failed my last semester and dropped out.
    Really?
Of course. I never wanted anyone else but you, and that’s why my boyfriend and I broke up.
Boyfriend? You’re not helping your cause, but now is not the time.
I turned back to Rex and said, “Tell me what’s wrong with my resort.”
“There was a water main break, and we couldn’t figure out how it happened. Also, there was a small fire started outside one of the rooms on a balcony. The thing is it was arson. Rocky and I could smell the gasoline when we rushed to put it out.”
“Someone is daring to sabotage my place? Where is Rocky right now?”
“He’s right here,” I heard behind me and saw Rocky standing alongside Gage.
“So did anyone notice anything suspicious before this shit happened or did anyone call the sheriff?”
Rocky just stared at Catherine, and I knew he could smell my mark on her before he turned and responded, “My cousin was out dealing with the humans camping out in the reserve. He’s supposed to be coming soon.”
“Fine. So what’s being done to rectify the damage?”
Vivian, who acted as Rex’s assistant responded first, “We’ve replaced the busted pipes and have closed off the two rooms that were damaged. The fire was put out quickly so the damage was only on the outside of the room, and the crew is already resetting the wood balcony.”
“Thanks for the update. Rocky, Chloe already told me you met my mate.”
“Yes, but she said she was the manager, not your mate.”
“Well, she didn’t know she was the one until I came home last night, but it doesn’t matter because as my mate she’ll be working alongside me until our pups are born.” I turned back to Vivian and added, “So, when you get some time this afternoon, I’d like you to go over the general operations schedule with her.”
“Yes, sir.” She bowed. I knew that if they knew the truth about Cat’s daydreams that she wouldn’t be worried about any human. Not that we left our mates, but humans were nuts. They killed for people they couldn’t have. Since we didn’t have that urge, we didn’t do shit like that.
“Please excuse us. Let me know when Grayson gets here.”
    “Will do,” Rex replied.
“Come now,” I said in a low growl as I gripped Cat by the hand. I wasn’t in the mood for socializing, not after what I just learned. I needed to put my stamp on her again. The heat in my loins was growing stronger by the second.
“Not so fast, I’m short remember?”
“Sorry, love.” I was too horny to walk at her pace, so I scooped her up and threw her over my shoulder and into my temporary office.
I slid her down me and let our bodies feel the slight tingle of our touch before I turned her to face
