that for quite a while when she had been watching Hunter, and she had decided that it was probably time to change her job for the sake of her happiness, and for the sake of Hunter's peace of mind.
They both went straight to Hunter's room, where they found him still lying on the bed, waiting for Solange. “I thought that you had abandoned me the way that you did at the swimming arena the other day,” he joked as they walked to his bed.
“Haha, very funny. Anyway, Hunter, I would like you to meet my friend and fellow trainer, Ashley Luckett,” Solange said as they walked up to the bed.
“Ashley, what a pleasure it is to finally get to meet you,” he said to her as she shook his hand.
“It’s a pleasure, Hunter. It’s good to see you sitting up and talking again. You gave us quite a scare when we found you and Marty on the road,” Ashley said.
“Maybe there is a reason why Marty and I did not die, you know. Maybe we were spared so we could get to meet you two and get to know you better. Especially after the attack by that lunatic manager the other day,” Hunter laughed. “And how is Marty anyway? I was just about to get out of bed to go and see him?”
“I think that he is actually doing better than you. I was with him the whole time, an order from Solange here,” Ashley said as her eyes hovered over his body, not missing the signs of an erection under the covers. “I'll just let you two be alone and go and check on him to see if he needs anything, although he is also being discharged.”
She walked out of the room, leaving Solange with Hunter alone, and Solange sat down on the edge of the bed as Hunter sat up on the bed and swung his legs over the side.
“Solange, we need to talk, and I mean, really talk,” he said to her, and Solange could tell that he was trying to figure out how to tell her something.
“Talk to me, Hunter, I'm right here, all ears,” she said to him, giving him her sweetest smile and hoping that he was about to tell her what she wanted.
“Well, it is about us, I know that we just recently met and that we barely know each other, but right from the very first time that I set my eyes on you on that plane, I was attracted to you,” he said slowly, his eyes never leaving hers, as her heart skipped a beat. “And the thing is, that attraction has now brewed up some feelings inside me, and I think that I am in love with you.”
Solange felt like jumping into the air and screaming for the whole world to hear, but she forced herself to remain still. These were the sort of words that she had been praying to hear because she herself did not know how she would have begun.
“I know that you might think that I am being a little rush about this, but the kisses that we have shared so far, have only served to strengthen those feelings. What I am trying to tell you is that I am in love with you, and I think that you are the right person for me. Actually, I don’t think, but I know that you are the right person,” it was as if Hunter was reading the very script that she had in her mind. “There is something about you that just drives me crazy when I see you, think of you, or even feel your touch, and I was hoping that you would give me the chance to get to know you better and hopefully make you happy for the rest of your life.”
“Are you proposing to me?” she asked faintly, her heart beating so wildly, she could barely think.
“Yes, I'm asking you to be my wife so I can spend the rest of our lives making you happy,” he said.
She stood up slowly, taking his hands and tears falling from her eyes as she moved closer to kiss him.

Chapter 9
She sat snuggled into his arms and Hunter felt like the happiest man on the planet. They were on the plane on their way back home and everything seemed to have worked out better than either of them had anticipated. Hunter had let Jerome off the hook and Jerome had been relieved of his duties by the athletics director for the scandal he’d
