smile that opened up his expression, and she could see all the way down to his soul. “Because I fell in love with the pack princess who walked into my bar.”
Chapter Six
“You...love me.”
She knew she'd heard the words, but it took a second to register. Happiness soared in her heart, thumping hard at the walls in her chest. Tears clogged her throat, and she flung herself into his arms. She didn’t need to ask how that was possible. Hell, she'd fallen for him just as fast. She could tell he'd been uncomfortable in the tux, but he'd shown up the picture-perfect perfect groom for them. For her.
He wrapped his arms around her, strong and protective as he lifted her off her feet.
“Of course I do, Princess,” he whispered against her neck, not seeming at all bothered that she’d flung herself at him in front of all their guests.
In his arms, she could easily believe it was just the two of them. In their own little world. He put her down, but kept tight hold of her to lean back and stared deeply into her eyes.
“From the instant you walked into the bar that night, I knew you weren’t leaving with anyone but me. By the morning, I didn’t want you to leave at all. When you did, you took my heart with you.” His lips lifted in a small smile, his deep voice a balm that wound around her soul as he bared his. “Taking you home was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I seriously thought about just riding off and taking you with me.”
“Even after you clearly rejected this life,” she said with awe. “You came back for me.” She grinned. “Of course, you did. I'm adorable!”
He blinked, surprise flowing over his features, and then chuckled, shaking his head. “Why do I get the feeling I may regret that decision?”
Then his expression changed, his hand spreading out over the back of her waist. The sudden heat in his eyes was enough to send shivers rolling over her skin. “How about we get out of here and I’ll show you exactly why I came back?”
She laughed and planted a kiss on his chin. “There's an idea I can fully embrace, back and invest in.” She glanced over her shoulder at the spectators. “Let's go before they start betting on when we'll conceive our first kid. I'd hate to hear someone say outside this door.”
Her words were music to his ears. With a low growl, the beast slipping from his lips, and he didn’t care to stop it, he swept her up in his arms. The guests erupted in cheers, lewd comments called across the room, mainly from the club who had stationed themselves near the bar. One comment, called in a deep voice, skirted the line of acceptable but was quickly followed by a meaty smack and a small yelp. Razor hid his grin, knowing that Cuffs was doing his job and keeping the brothers in line.
A gaggle of women in the doorway stopped them, and he cocked an eyebrow at Evva, held tight in his arms. Heat and need pulled at his body, tightening all his muscles and...other parts further south. Their night together felt like a lifetime ago. If he didn’t get her out of here soon, he’d explode.
“They want me to throw the bouquet,” she whispered, smiling at his obvious impatience.
“Well, throw the damn thing and let’s get out of here.”
Evva glanced around for a second and then smiled. There was a wickedness to her smile he would have worried about if directed at him. Then she threw the bouquet directly at the woman, Giselle, who'd spoken to him earlier. “Good luck, Gigi!”
He didn’t miss the tall figure of his second in command behind her, his eyes bright with interest and a healthy dose of lust. He chuckled. “I have a feeling she’s going to need it.”
Considering they’d done their duty, he swept out of the door with her still in his arms. Long strides took him away from the reception hall. Even in his previous life, he hadn’t visited the Castillo estates, but he’d checked out the general layout on the ride into church this morning. One structure stood
