tried to find her center of calm. Who could find such a thing when somewhere near a mysterious man awaited her. She’d practically taken advantage of him last night, even though, in a contest of strength, she didn’t hold a snowball’s chance in hell against him.
She moved toward a liquor store, one that sold local rum in a variety of flavors, wishing for a drink. In these parts, it was always five o’clock somewhere rules. Just as she turned a corner, her breath whooshed from her lungs as someone grabbed her, covered her mouth to stifle her scream, and pinned her body against a wall of orange stucco. Luckily, Jaws' face registered in her brain as she took in her surroundings, sized up the seriousness of her plight.
Her fight or flight reaction still coursing adrenaline through her veins, she looked at him with wide eyes, her heart beating wildly in her chest. Yet, with his hard body pressed against hers, an obvious erection pushing into her stomach, the panicked beats vibrated through her body, through her stomach, and in between her thighs.
“You mentioned some capture fantasy last night. I hope you’re up for the adventure of your life,” he whispered into her ear, his hot breath, his husky tone, did nothing for her suddenly shot nerves and her humming body.
She just starred, unable to say anything with her mouth still covered. Her lungs burned as big amounts of air wheezed through her nose, her mouth still covered by his hand and a scarf. He looked around them, though he had them squeezed in between two close walls, a small alley between shops.
“Samantha, please, nod once if you’re game. Shake your head if you just want to eat and shop and talk today. Your choice, but know that if you nod, it will be your last decision until we have to be back on the ship. Okay, go,” he breathed out, his voice registering to her ears as a tad shaky too.
She blinked her eyes shut tightly a second before she went with a nod.
“Good girl. Now, quietly, follow me, head down, and we will get into the waiting cab just a few steps away. You do nothing but what I say. Got it?” he threatened, his voice suddenly menacing, immediately assuming his role of her capturer, she guessed.
As the cab door closed, and Jaws merely nodded at the driver, he’d kept a tight grip on her arm. Once the vehicle moved forward, he grabbed her wrists and tied them behind her back with a scarf. She looked up at him in question, but his look alone, the scowl of his dark eyebrows over his blazing eyes, kept her quiet.
He bent to whisper into her ear, “Don’t worry my faerie warrior, where I’m taking you, no one will ever see. For all intents and purposes, until we have to be back on the ship in five hours, you’ve disappeared from the face of the earth into my world, my control. You may have had the upper hand last night, but today I rule this kingdom. Nod if you understand.”
She did. Then, she looked out her window at the beautiful scenery, lush trees and blooming flowers in front of brightly painted buildings as she still fought to gain control over her breathing. The water flashed between each one as they rode the coastline up a hill until buildings turned to smaller houses. When it seemed they’d reached the tip of the grade, the cab turned down a tree-lined drive to park behind a secluded, white cabin of sorts, a private residence it looked like.
With no one around, he pulled her from the car and handed money through the open window to the cab driver. The car immediately sped away, leaving them completely alone on a ridge of stone overlooking the water. The view made her gasp, but he gave her little time to appreciate it before he moved her by her bound wrists through a white picket privacy fence.
Stepping through was like entering a portal. The world changed to one she’d only seen in pictures. An infinity pool overlooked the ocean, she estimated a good ten feet above sea level. The waves crashed below, mingling with the sounds
